First coffee of the new year, getting to open up a gift from my in-laws. I'm a hard shopper, so he says I'm getting coffee every year.

I feel this. I'm down to 2 cups a day at this point. Way better than it used to be!I'm actually trying to cut back on coffee, the past week and change was going pretty well but today I was just to tired.
Don't get me wrong, there are worse things than coffee to have a lot of, but it's good to keep stuff under control.
It's great hearing about your exploits though!
Only buy good coffee. It’s probably not sold in a supermarket. Find a place that can make custom blends out of beans they grind fresh for you. Secondly, I use a drip coffee make, but using a percolator allows you expose the grounds to hot water for a longer time, hence a more flavorful brew and use less coffee.Ive become a huge coffee fan over the past couple of years and greatly enjoy a good cup whenever I can get one. The only problem is that my at home coffee skills are severely lacking.
Any tips and tricks for someone looking to up there game?
