It's actually a trophy, one of my prized possessions. Every Halloween at the 9th Street dirt jumps in downtown Austin we have a big party. One year my duo(bass and drums) stole power from a nearby law office and played an impromptu set while everyone rode. The guys had originally made this trophy for best wreck but when we surprised em with a show they crossed out wreck and wrote band. We are the only band to have pulled off playing there. Super fun day, dodging cops and dirt jumping after my set.

Steve Wise of Austin built this bass for me around 33 years ago. I designed it as a 14 or 15 year old jazz punk fretless player. There is actually quite a bit of thought that went into it and a reason behind its design besides ridiculousness. It is a truly amazing bass of very high quality and has endured many years of touring and craziness.

It's just wrapped around the 15 cabinet corner. Is that what ya mean? The buttons are oriented similar to an Iceman if that's what ya meant.

So, how long have you been beating your spouse/significant other? - Oh, wait - not that kind of questioning. That is the most singular build I have seen in a long time. This is a compliment: I hope to see that in the next Star Trek series or movie - remember the original episode where Spock jams with Khan's group? Reminds me of the Explorer body shape taken to its limits. Rock on!
