Hehehe, as cool as that would be, the temptation to run off with it would be much more, and we'd either have to get 150-300 people at $10 a head, or up the anty by a good amount lol. Good idea, but it would deffinantly have to be more secure, everyone have a credit card on file or something to prevent theft, and then who would get it? Raffling it to winners would get tricky if everyone was putting in a couple hundred dollars. Thats like gambling hehe.

This is where the incentive to hold TB get togethers comes in. You get to try all those cool basses, dont spend any money really, and still leave with more GAS than any tums could cure hehe.

When I put the order in for mine it will be
a model with just a 2 octave fret board
unfinished
no side markers (you'll see)

scooped j bass shape

I am going to mount a pezio to get that upright tone - I use an volume pedal so no need for that - as long as there is a rear routed control cavity.

Wish had a fantastic bloodwood bass that was drool worthy.

I really like the neck on this thing - huge and chunky just like an upright. The sound is fantastic. If you buy one get it in the raw version - you will avoid the things that some have complained about and maybe even save some cash too. Personally I'd use a tung oil finish to finish mine myself. The ash on the back of this is very nice and resonant and is probably my favorite wood for a bass. All in all I like the simplicity and ergonomics very much. For 200 dollars it far surpases my expectations of playability, sound and feel. I new what to expect finish wise. Also, I don't play fretless but I have done pretty well on this one. The only other fretless basses I liked were the Jaco relic and a 5 string Pedulla penta-buzz.

I'd like to see what the independant bridge looks like on this. I bet it changes the sound but the added adjustability and stability would be worth it - IMHO.

One more note: Wish said he was moving out of his shop and back into his home shop so he could be able to increase the quality of each bass (bottom line, I guess when you rent space you have a quota unwritten or not).

better than that, lets take a standard bass, like a mim fender jazz, and send it from custom builder to custom builder, and see what comes out, then we auction it to charity.

I am finally back in Raleigh. So far the bass has gone from Winston-Salem NC to Asheville NC (200 miles) then from Asheville NC to Raleigh NC (300) miles - it is the "hobo bass". I will post pictures of the bass and I - tonight along with my official review.

Let's start talking about where the bass goes to after sb69coupe. You guys in the North East - Is it ok with you if the bass goes to FL then to party in TX?

Some notes vcat who is in Charlston SC wants the bass towards the end of the list, so if we could get it to him after the north east gets it that would be great.

has everyone gotten the excel list with everyone's info? I will send out the final list ASAP.

I believe I'm about 4 hours away - lemme doublecheck.... yeah, about that, 251 miles. Halfway would be just south o' Richmond. Dunno if that's too far for a weekend, but definitely is for a weeknight meetup.

I did some research once on the net, looking up "Steve Wishnevsky". I couldn't find out much about him as a bassist. But he apparently is a formidable banjo player with bluegrass being his specialty.

IMO Anyone who is musical enough to play bluegrass banjo well can most-likely hold his own on the ol' bass. Don't ya think?

That picture was to illistrate the natural balance of the Wish. My son (the boy in the picture) turns 3 on Thursday. I will have some time tomorrow to update you guys. Talk to you later.
