BTW, perhaps Freekbass and Embellisher and I could all 3 get together for a review. I dont play any gigs, so perhaps I could just come check it out at one of their places, or something like that so we arent shipping it around Dallas 3 times.

Everything looks good to go. I am making arrangements to pick the bass up on my way from Raleigh to Asheville on Thursday. I wanted to interview WIsh and snap some pictures however, I will have my kids with me so the picture of Wish with the bass will have to be quick.

Still awaiting the picture of the spaulted bass.

Can we put together a list of questions (interview style) to ask the man?

Does anyone have an idea if this would fit in a standard size gig bag? I can get stuff like that for pretty cheap, it just takes a couple days (a fender standard bass gig bag is 12.50 wholesale).

Well, I have had some experience with ipe, and let me tell you, rounds will NOT be a problem on that wood at all!!! Ipe is so dense it doesn't float. It does not play nice with normal tools- it is just about mandatory that you work it with carbide-tipped saw blades and such, because it is so tough. How tough, you ask? My friend and I took a ball-peen hammer to a board he had bought, and after both of us had at it with all our might, we had succeeded in totally DESTROYING the hammer. The wood had maybe 6 or 7 dents of any depth, the deepest being a whopping 1/64" deep. Wow. Talk about a crater!

That is one very nice-looking bass. I actually like the knots in the fingerboard (at least the way they LOOK).

Glad to hear that ipe is tough, because it will have rounds on it while it is in my possession. Wouldn't play a fretless any other way! If it arrives with flats, I will put the flats back on it before I ship. I will also try it with the flats, just for comparison.

I am not sure those are knots in the fretboard. I think it may be some naptha or something else that hasn't dried.

Wow, I (can't believe I'm saying this) REALLY like the look of the piece of wood he used for the body!!!

I hope those aren't knots on the fretboard cause I for one don't like the look of that.

I agree we should do nothing to the front of the bass. If we're going to sign in ot should be limited to the back. Please, No JOHN HANCOCKS, try to keep in mind that 20 or so people are going to have to fit on there.

BTW, just for fun, The Wife was asking what it was that I paid $10 for on paypall so I told her I bought a bass . I'm not going to clue her into the whole deal for a few days after it gets here (I told her it was still being built so I didn't know when it would be in), so we'll see if the thinks the bass is worth $10 and we'll see what a non-musician thinks of the Wish in general!!!

what happens if you buy something from Invalid Link Removed, or bassnw, etc., and then return it. do you get refunded your customs tax?
