I played for a week on this Cruise Ship. They had a Beatles night in the piano bar. There were people on the ship from 10 different countries that spoke 10 different languages. They all joined together laughing, singing along, and having a blast with the Beatles songs. Blew me away. The Beatles truly crossed all languages and cultures.

That said in never listen to em anymore. I frequently listen to, and study Stones music from the 1970’s. Exile on Main Street, Some Girls, Goat’s Head Soup, and a few others are incredible albums. The true essence of what Rock and Roll can be. They had edge back then.

Beatles or Stones?

Neither…Metallica \m/

Okkkay…Now that I got that dumb joke out of the way…

Since I’m not from that generation I’m probably not qualified to weigh in on this, however I would say Stones bc I feel like they are more Rock and Roll than the Beatles…

Apparently Ozzy (and by extension Sabbath) were heavily influenced by the Beatles from what I’ve read on them, but I feel like The Stones embraced the darker/heavier/more anti-establishment vibe of rock vs having matching suits and taking a bow in unison when they were done playing…

In no way am I saying that the Beatles weren’t influential or talented, simply stating my opinion here, but I’ve never really cared for the Beatles music personally-They are too pop for my tastes…Kudos on the idea of having a concept album, but beyond that they are just kinda “Meh” in my book…Just never really cared for their music…

I’m more likely to get behind Paint It Black (better song and more relatable to me) or something that’s a bit dirtier and a little distorted like (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction vs something like All You Need Is Love…

Follow up question-How many Beatles songs are tough enough to find their way into a Scorsese film???…

Just feel like The Stones kicked down the door for a lot of darker rock spin off bands like The Doors, Sabbath, and added a whole extra dimension and attitude to their music…

Thanks! \m/

The Stones darker image was manufactured by Andrew Oldham, just as the Beatles sunny, happy go lucky image was manufactured by Brian Epstein.
