Yes, the 3 ply black white black is what I'm thinking.Black-white-black, I hope?I think a black pickgaurd on a black bass looks great, but I think the little bit of visual interest from a 3-ply pickguard takes things up a level.
I've never really seen a jazz that has connected with me until yoursHere's my black beauty. Trans-black. In the very near future I'll be slapping a fretless neck on, probably a Tony Franklin; though I'm keeping my eye open for a nice maple fretless.

Suggestions:
1) Tapewound Strings
2) Black anodised frets and black M.O.P. dots or
3) Convert to fretless, ebony board, no lines or black lines.
