Let's see those beautiful Black Basses

@BlueTalon the one I was able to purchase was not a genuine Ric part. It looks great though. I obviously kept the original if I ever need it when selling or if I want to switch back to the stock white.
I'd be willing to give up my white TRC in a direct exchange (plus a little cash maybe) for a genuine black one. Otherwise, I'd do the same thing -- put the black one on and hang onto the original.

I'm so close to buying an AP-5 how do you like it? There is a black one local to me but the blue is really catching my eye

I love it. If you like the EMG's (they suit what I play perfectly), it'll be hard not to like this bass. Aside from the top notch hardware, and excellent build quality, it's just so easy to play. The neck feels amazing, nice slim profile that is easy to get comfortable on and nice 19mm spacing.

The thing I like most about it is the passive control setup. Active pups, but uncolored by a full preamp. Simple volume, blend (I prefer to VVT) and tone knob. There is a certain pleasure to not overthinking with tons of knobs and switches. Just good tones all the way around, easy to dial in which is nice, especially on stage.

I posted this bass here back when the thread was new 3 years ago, but I have a better photo now.
