That's this month's practice rigs. Next month my gear may be arranged differently. Now that my mother-in-law lives with us I can't practice as freely as before, but it's a sacrifice well worth making.

My wife and I have a dedicated music room in our house. The setup is:

Mac laptop <-> Tascam US-1600
Bass -> VT Bass -> Distorsore -> Tascam
Fantom G6 synth -> Tascam
Juno-106 synth -> Midiverb -> Tascam
Mics -> JamHub
Tascam -> JamHub -> multiple headphones, amp

The Tascam US-1600 interfaces with a Mac Book Pro and two synthesizers. It also holds up the MIDI interface for the Mac, both synths, and the Midiverb. Its monitor out goes to a JamHub for headphone monitoring. The JamHub has an output going to a Roland KG-550 amplifier for when I get sick of the headphones. Mics go into the JamHub for practice. It has a couple of decent onboard reverbs I like. For "serious business," the mics go into the Tascam dry and Logic Express processes all effects. There is room on both the JamHub and Tascam for when our guitarist comes into town.

The laptop runs Logic Express for recording, iTunes for learning songs, and a really nifty shareware strobe tuner I downloaded.

I'm a big fan of the JamHub. It lets my wife and I both set our own mixes and overall volumes. Hence, no volume wars and no hearing damage. And we can play our non-accoustic instruments in the middle of the night without disturbing our neighbors.

Since TB only has two upload slots, I'm putting in the center part of the music room (including most everything mentioned above) and a close up of the JamHub, rack, and amp. Not pictured: Basses and guitars (they're on stands out of the frame), both of our drum kits, various mics and headphones, and the big bin of cables, parts, and other misc. stuff. Looks like I need to do a little more work on cable management!

My living room set. DIY amp (actually sounds fantastic, just ugly and doesn't get super loud) and my Electra Phoenix parts bass. Always out and plugged in for spontaneous/impulse sessions. Lots of my friends, my roommate, and his friends are musicians and so it's sort of the community player rig for our apartment. Never really leaves the living room though.
My main bass usually stays in its case and is kept stowed away with the big rig for louder jam sessions, rehearsals, or gigs.

One more quick pic with my basses in the picture. Because I know the rule around here. No pic, no bass! :bassist:

Here's mine (while I was moving a bunch of stuff around this am). The regulator is the Roland cube, if the session has to be louder than it's capable of (5w per channel), I won't be able to hear anything anyway due to hearing damage. So this also doubles as the new gig-rig until the next life (then I'll come back and get my GK out of the apt.).

^^^Wow....awesome. And a wife who is a co-conspirator to boot. Priceless!

Thanks!

My wife is a percussionist, drummer, singer, and is learning the guitar. The music room was her idea, actually. Rather than trying to cram everything into a spare bedroom, she decided we should turn our formal dining room into a place for music. We never have formal gatherings, anyway. It sure is funny, though, when we have guests over. The front door into the house goes right into that room. So they have to walk across the stage, as it would seem, to get into the rest of the house.

Being married to a musician is great for both of us! When it comes to music, she's usually the one reminding me that we both need to make time every day to practice. We can also give each other input as to what we're doing well on and what still needs work.
