bought it new in 05', been my workhorse ever since. I've got other nice basses but this vette fna jazzman 5-string is light, it sound great live and in the studio, it plays great, stays in tune, love it!

Nice --- thank you sir for the feedback! I do sweat a lot, so I'll be diligent at wiping down after every time I play it. I wonder what others do as far as frequency and types of of maintenance? I'll start a new thread, since I'm a new bass player (8 months) and a heavy sweating player.

My backup gigging bass. If I want to leave my Ric, MM, Precision or EB3 at home for the night's gig then this bass can cover the entire lot with its flexible tone settings like no other bass can. It can emulate the sounds of the other basses easily, so its like wearing half a dozen different basses in one..it also weighs as much as the whole lot put together too lolll. Great bass. My 1979 Peavey T-40.

It's been the SR always for me

But, now I'm switching genres, so I think the Talman's gonna be my new go to.

Playin reggae now. Not much use for the modern sound. It also rocks with my worship band. But, I'm a hoarder when it comes to MY stuff. So, it'll be around to make a comeback.



I take that back,
Before the 605, I rocked my red Gio through 4 bands and 3 genres. 2 punk bands, a surf rock group, and a grunge band. No pics from back then though.

1) 87' Roomian P/J my main fretless 4 for the last 35 yes.
2) 90's Fender MIM 60's Jazz Bass w/Audere Pre
3) 02'? Elrick Gold Series 4
4) 95' Minnieweather 5
Basses 1 and 4 are both one of one, made by small builders.
All are workhorses, all get gigged pretty regularly. Though I would say right now I'm playing 5's on most of my gigs. All of these basses have hundreds of gigs on them.

My go to bass is my Devon Modern J5 that Devon Smullen made for me. Best built and best sounding bass I've ever owned. I can get any tone I want or need with the push/pull Coil tap switches.
