I really should have taken a better picture of the BH800, but I am a little lazy at the moment so this will do.

Out of curiosity where does the RM500 fall in the greater spectrum of your gear.
Hey, good question. I had to think about that for a bit. It's hard to say exactly where, but I would definitely say it is somewhere in my top 5. It gets ridiculously loud, has a great Drive, one of the better on board compressors and a very versatile EQ.

I was actually comparing it just last night to the Magellan 800 and EBS Reidmar 750 and the Rootmaster put a big smile on my face. That amp can definitely hold it's own. Makes me wonder what power module it has in it.

Thanks for the feedback. For some reason the RM500 has really caught my eye. It doesn't seem to get a lot of chatter here for some reason. Strikes me as a well made amp though.

That has always been my feeling as well. I know for a while they were hard to come by and maybe that is why not too many people have experience with them. Don't know? I'm glad i got mine.

I know both Andertons and Premier Guitar have really good reviews on them on YouTube, but you still don't hear much about them here on Talkbass.

I like to keep it simple. Orange OB1 head, because I wanted a modern class A/B amp and I'm a Star Wars nerd. Bergantino REF210 and REF112 cabs, because these things sound fantastic and allow the full character of the basses to come through. (There's no hiding behind their clarity). If I want a more portable setup, I can take either the 112 or the 210 because they both sound fantastic.

The OD tone of the OB1 is quite unique and takes a bit of getting used to, but it can add either a subtle high end bite, or full on ringing-for-an-hour distortion.

My main basses are Music Man Caprice and customized American Geddy Lee Jazz

Aria Avante AVB45/5 bass with Carvin pickups and 3 band electronics, through a Belden Brilliance cable into either:
Rack mounted Ashly BP-41, into a rack mounted Ashly FTX-2001 power amp, bridged, into a stock TL-606 cabinet with an Eminence Kappa 15-LF speaker.
Or if the room is pretty small:
Directly into an SWR WorkingPro 10.

Try to keep things simple, and not rely too much on effects and stuff.
