Baloney. It takes either four or six depending on body mass index. I know this because I time travellled on 4 fuzz pedals, but it was a little hard to contol because I forgot to allow for the weight of my bass and wireless unit.

A little grease on bass strings reduces friction. Beware to use grease which fits your style. A few examples:
- Chicken grease for Country style,
- Car grease for Rock & Roll,
- Pork grease for Jazz,
- Nose grease for Punk Rock,
- Gun oil for Metal.
