Let's spread some musical misinformation

Basses will soon become dirt cheap.
There is an over-supply of bass guitars in the world.
There are already 12 million too many Squiers and 43 million too many Fender P-s.

If you currently laid all the basses end to end they would go the moon and back four times.

There is a worldwide wood shortage because all the wood was used to make bass guitar bodies and amp cabinets.

There is also an oversupply of amps. But more importantly, amp speaker magnets.

There are 323 million amp speaker magnets on the planet.

Nostradamus predicted that in 2018 there would be a cataclysmic event when too many speaker magnets are too near each other and suddenly all stick together in one big explosion.

To be really good at bass you need to lock with the vocalist.

That made me giggle out loud and almost woke up my wife!

I know a drummer who locked with the vocalist, made things awkward whenever her husband was around ... they were all in the same band!

When rolling tubes, use the best rolling papers you can afford, otherwise the paper rips and the tube falls and breaks.
Can't smoke 'em if you broke 'em.

Hear hear...

Another problem with young inexperienced electrons is when they get over-excited about their first ever thermionic E-Mission and jump the gun. Like a large horde of fledgling lemmings, this usually occurs in large groups, and the novice group rushes across the heater gap before the more experienced electrons can show them the proper technique of tickling the anodes; thus the young'n's block the heater channel preventing the experienced electrons from getting across, and the group overstimulates the plate causing grid-lock.

This type of green (as in amateurish) electron discharge is known as premature electrodulation.

That's all we have time for today. For next class, read pages 242 to 257, and we'll discuss dilode tubes used in AC⚡DC rectumfires.

If you hold your bass at about waist level you'll have strong mids. However, to accentuate the lows you'll need to hold the bass closer to the floor like Robert Trujillo...

or to bring out the highs you'll need to strap your bass way up on your chest like Jaco...
