Some people slap their bass continually and then wonder why it doesn't sound good any more. It is the constant VAB (Violence Against Basses) that does it. The bass breaks down emotionally and can no longer operate harmoniously.

A much more effective way to discipline a bass (if it needs it) is to put it on an instrument rack and make it stand in the corner.

Fretless bass guitars are always lighter - without all that finicky fret-wire. They take much less time to build, as a consequence, and are therefore much cheaper to buy than real bass guitars. So lighten up. Save some dosh. Go fretless!

Any music composed for guitar can be played on a bass.
Conversion can be simply done by shifting all notes one semi tone down.
This conversion for basses is the reason why flat notes are indicated by adding a b.
For double basses the conversion requires double flat notes, indicated by adding bb.
