Orville Redenbacker invented what is now know as Rickenbacker.
He didn't use Redenbacker as he didn't want to create market confusion with his popcorn.
That's why his basses sound like popcorn!

Frets are actually speed bumps, and are required by federal law on all fretted basses.
They'll soon be required on fretless basses as well.
