The lyrics to Louie Louie were under investigation by the FBI to probe for hidden messages.

To stay on the thread topic - FBI Director Comey has determined that even though the song breaks numerous obscenity and radical speech laws no one would prosecute the case. Lemmy, Richard Berry and other top performers are free from indictment on this, however it should not be assumed that anyone else performing this song will get a similar pass.

To overcome legal problems Errol Brown and Tony Wilson of Hot Chocolate changed the lyrics and titled their version "Brother Louie".

Tone has nothing to do with pups, strings, bodywood or anything else on a bass......nor the amp.

It is all in the fingers.

For best tone you need to mummify your fingers.

Start off by having a surgeon remove all subcutaneous tissue on the furthermost fingerbones without removing the skin.

Leave the skin on so it can be sewn up later.

Now pack the cavities with rocksalt,tar, molasses and turpentine.

Sew the fingers back up and bind with old bedsheets that have been torn up to make swaddling bandage strips.

Don't play for 4 weeks so it all gets a chance to settle in.

After 4 weeks by all means rock on!

You'll sound like a million bucks and probably get a recording contract right away...

Other than fingers there is only additional factor that affects the tone of a bass...and that is your personal aura and EMF.

These are transmitted through the fingers though.

When you play a bass it is inside your EMF because you hold it close to your body. It is also inside your aura.

Your mood determines the color and propensities of your aura and EMF.

These two factors are introduced to the strings via your fingers. The EMF and aura travel down your fingers onto the strings, which in turn is harvested by the pickups.

To counteract this you need to wear a tinfoil hat while playing. A tinfoil hat that has a groundwire on it that goes directly to ground.

This groundwire redirects your EMF and aura, siphoning them off harmlessly so they don't affect your tone.

Double bass and acoustic upright players do not suffer from EMF and aura tone problems so much because the bass is not as close to their bodies and there is less electronics.

But if their basses are amplified they will benefit hugely from the grounded tinfoil hat.

Deathmetal electric bass players are often fraught with tone problems because their auras are black and their EMF's are oscillating.
You will constantly hear these people asking which is the best bass for metal....not knowing that it is their EMF/auras that are causing the problem.

Upright players usually have auras that are a combination of Chartreuse, Violet and Fuchsia....unless they're playing Rockabilly, in which case it will be a pastiche of Tort-like brown.

Slap technique can be improved by watching old black/white compilations of The Three Stooges.

Moe was actually a bass player and the Father Of Slap, using the technique on Larry and Curly in virtually every episode.

Paul McCartney was so impressed by Moe that he talked the rest of the Beatles into adopting Moe's haircut.
