Let's spread some musical misinformation

Bassists are great philanthropists & so am I. Evidence? Here you go:

The upright bass is called "double bass," because it replaced the octobass, which is twice the height of an average adult.

The bigger problem with the octobass was the tonal range. The highest note it could produce was A(0), so very little of the music produced on it was audible. In college level music courses, students would be tested with an oscilloscope as the professors could not hear the music being played.

For this reason, many elephants choose to study & later teach octobass.
