Scientists warn for the use of neodymium magnets in pickups. They are so strong, that they slow down the blood stream in your strumming fingers, because of the iron in the blood. This, in turn causes the fingers to get tired and numb.
It is far worse actually. Continued use can result in an aggregation of iron in the fingers and the development of Reynaud's Phenomenon. The result is compromised blood flow and reduced playing speed. It can be recognized in music by gradual lowering of the tempo of songs.
