Let's spread some musical misinformation

When Leo brought out the original Fender-P bass, they didn't sell very well at all.

Problem:- It was not a "beginner" bass so too complicated for the average person wishing to take up bass.

In those days , many potential Fender customers spent their best years never taking up bass because Fender didn't make a "beginner " bass.

Plus:- the Fender Precision was wrongly named because it implied you had to be very very precise when playing it and there was no room for learner error.

This is why many a would-be Fender P-bass player went out and bought a Ukelele instead.

It is absolutely essential to carry a hot-melt glue gun in your bag. When your battery suddenly dies (and you know you'll never be able to find another) and the only bass available is a fretless (and you don't play fretless) from some stranger that wanted to sit in with your band for a few songs, run to the bar/restaurant/dive kitchen, grab some toothpicks and heat up that glue gun. If there are fret lines, just glue those toothpicks near them. If there are no fret lines, use your best judgment. Everything will be just fine.

Well, it's not the whole story. In fact the record company secretly installed an autotune device. When Lemmy found out, he fed the output of "Murder One" into the poor device, blowing out it's little electronic guts after the second power chord.

I heard he killed the second one by giving it too much beer and illicit substances. Then the record company gave up.

I thought the hot melt glue gun would be to put back together the fragile ego of the singer after an adverse comment, but normally gaffer tape is sufficient. Gaffer tape is also useful for taping down the left arm of the keyboard player to stop them using the bassist's sonic area up.

^ that's the vermouth, talking, the whole vermouth and nothing but the vermouth...

Freddy Mercury had to sing "I want to ride my tricycle..." until the band was able to take his training wheels off, after which the lyrics were altered to the now familiar refrain "I want to ride my bicycle", and so too the name of the song was changed.

The reason chicken grease became ingrained in musician culture is because the chicken ranchers were better organised than the fish lobby, which was constantly floundering around and cod oily come up with one-eyed eel. They felt shrimpish aboat it, and tried to rally more support for the halibut but were schooled and scuttled, hook line and singer.

Under new metric rules the scale length of basses it to be increased to 1m in Europe (about 39 inches), but in the UK they will be remain at 36 inches (1 yard) for domestic basses. The USA still uses smaller gallons, but until 1959 also used smaller inches and the original Fender bass was a USA yard, which is now 34 new metric inches.

The Spanish continue to use Galleons on their basses.

Tip of the day, If the electric goes out on your gig you can still play. Just run out to your cars pull the batteries and hook them to your equipment. Not only will you be able to finish the gig, you can still start your car after the gig. How nice is that?

Oh absolutely...12v DC will give you that warm vintage analog sound.

Real pros know that for the best sound, plug your bass directly into the wall outlet. That way you use the whole building's wiring as the speaker and wattage is only limited to the power supply to the building.
In fact, if you have a HiWatt amp you should be plugging it directly into a 220 volt source. The Ampeg SVT (small voltage terminal) should be run off of low voltage systems of less than 110 volts.

Alice Cooper and Jerry Peek were once co-workers in the same Scottsdale, Az. shoe store. They consistently broke monthly sales record after sales record. The store owner still to this day laments their loss to the music industry.

The shoe connection to the music industry is strong. Jimmy Vaughan of the Fabulous Thunderbirds is also a famous shoe designer. The line was named by his brother Stevie (while quite drunk) Jimmy's Shoes, but slurred to Jimmy Choo

I was about to follow up with this tasty information.. but sadly, you beat me to it.. Timing... timing is everything in Shoe/Show Business and in internal combustion engines.. I applaud your boldness, Sir!
