Let's spread some musical misinformation

What does 'over rated' mean?
A 'rate' is the dollar amount a venue agrees to compensate a musician for appearing/performing at the venue. 'Over rate' is a bonus paid to the musician after a certain dollar amount is raised thru ticket sales for the performance (ex - per agreement between performer and venue, once the venue sells 3/4 of the available seats, the revenue from the remaining available seating is the 'over rate'....sort of the reverse of 'pay to play'). BB King has historically not allowed such compensation to occur as a result of his performance (religious differences, apparently) and, as such, is 'not over rated.'

If you asked BB Kings sofa, it would definitely say that he's over-weighted.

Once upon a time there was a teenage boy who didn't have much luck with the ladies, and didn't know much about anything in general. He discovered girls flock to guitarists, and as luck would have it, his friend's band had an opening. To prepare for the hoards of groupies that would follow him to his mother's basement, he purchased all the booze and carrots he could get his hands on (you know females only live off of booze and salad).

After his first gig when no girl showed any interest in him, he went home and drank all the booze he had. He was still depressed when all the alcohol was gone, so he went to the internet to discover what he did wrong. He found out that a guitar and a bass guitar is not the same thing, and he also discovered Talkbass.com.

His mind was blown by all the information on TB, and could not wait to get into the conversations. Since he never realized he was playing a bass until he found the website, he had no knowledge or opinion on anything being talked about on TB, so he offered all he had, which was carrots. :bassist:

Just for a while, I thought this was the biography of Bud Bundy

So THAT'S where the "carrots" thing came from?
