Let's spread some musical misinformation

Ernie Ball is working on a new 'infinite sustain' flat wound in which the wrap is a mobius strip, meaning that the vibrations can never escape. It's having a few problems creating the new manifold geometries in additional dimensions to make it work, though, but has created time travel as a side benefit, which means you'll soon be able to go back in time to borrow a bass from James Jamerson, leaving a Sire M7 in its place.

Wow! How did they overcome the inevitable 180° Möbius phase shift?

Don't cross the strings. That would be bad.
How bad?
Imagine everything you know ceasing to exist as your molecules fly apart at the speed of medium light flats...
Total Bassonic reversion....
Ok, good, important safety tip.

Don't try this at home kids! We're covered by scads of insurance trained progessionals!

Wasn't that the lesson from Ghostbusters?

Modern speakers can't reproduce low notes if on monitor stands. The Lead guitarist will assure you the best place for a bass monitor to get the lows is the lowest level underground at your venue. And don't worry if *you* can't hear it - it's the guitarist's job to let you know how much you need to turn down.

I knew that already, but did you know that if you put the right speaker on a stand in the right room on the right day you can achieve a super sub bass frequency that only termites can feel? If you do your research, you'll find that instrument makers of long ago used termites to test the tonal properties of their work. If the little buggers chewed their way out of the hollowed out cavity, it was because the notes being played rattled their brains loopy. If they remained in the cavity, it was considered a "lesser" instrument and only sold at Kmart.

Was the same true of Marilyn Manson?

Nahhh. That's just a stage name, Manson's real name growing up (physically if not mentally) was/is "Brianna Huguette Warnerbothers".

Speaking of names...

Thom Petty is the illegitimate love-child of Richarde Petty. Being banished from the Petty racing clan and its riches is what drove Thom to succeed in music and become a rich rock star. Boy, he sure showed up those other pesky petty Petties (Pettys?)

Thus the impetus also behind the songs
"Free Fallin' " — never being accepted.
"Yer so Bad" — an ode to his dad.
"You Don't Know How It Feels" — rumination on being an outcast
"It's Good To Be King" — likening his rock-star status to dear ol' dad's nickname, Dick "King" Petty.
"I Won't Back Down" — Written during the court battle over being a recognised Petty family member, but the DNA test was fixed.
"Even The Losers" — fallout from the lost court battle
"Time To Move On" — acceptance that the Petty racers would never acknowledge Tom.

You need to be very careful about putting a bass speaker in a depression. Because the notes are so heavy, they will pool in the depression. And then, if they are disturbed by an object falling into the depression, they will all be released at once, hence the term drop the bass.

On the southern hemisphere you got to put the left speaker on a stand in the left room...

Many know that a great technique for learning the fret board is to say the note names out loud. However, it is easier and faster to learn the fret board by saying the note name as loud as possible. As well, to make association with the note strong, it is best to isolate the note by wearing headphones. So, for optimal learning, wear headphones and scream the note names at the top of your lungs.

That's how death metal developed.
