Naturally the black spikey basses fit in with worship and praise.
It is predicted that the ocarina will soon usurp the guitar as the favoured instrument of rock, jazz, blues and beyond.
It has been gaining popularity steadily in all genres of music, and small ocarina ensembles are giving way to stage bands with full orchestras predicted to soon follow.
What this means for us bass players is that a healthy set of lungs will be required as the contrabass-ocarina is quite large. Though sizeable and cumbersome, it is still substantially smaller than a string contrabass and not quite as large as a contrabass-saxophone — given the swift acceptance of all-ocarina bands, many ocarina ensembles will likely soon be demanding their bass players to hang up the strings, and blast those walking lines, root-fives, and pedal tones from an ocarina.
So, suck it up and blow hard boys and girls.

Documents from Fender's Head Orfice have been leaked onto the Dark Net, the 2018 lineup is as follows:
- All bass instruments will be homologised to 32.5" scale (including Mustangs, Jaguars, Coronado, Precisions & Jazzes etc. ie ALL basses), as this has been proven to be the best "one-size-fits-all" approach.
- All bass instruments will have a "B"-neck; C, D, U and V neck shapes will be dropped as tracking the thumb up and down the neck has been found to be improved with keeping the thumb in the crack of the B.
BuhBye to all of the above!
- All bass instruments will have the Torzal Twist for better ergonomics.
- All bass instruments will have micro-tonally adjusted fanned frets

Fretless will no longer be offered*
- All bass instruments will have Maple necks with Phenolic-fauxrosewood fingerboards.
Fender's initial expenditure to tool up for this one style of homogenised neck will be offset in the long-term profits of having every style of every bass being equipped with the tentatively-titled SupahNeck™, and easier for techs to set up the basses in the factory and in the field, etc.
Projected savings from the one-neck, many bass-styles will enable Fender to offer a plethora of paint options to Fender Bass fans who may order their preferred body style in any colour they want — yes, even chartreuse.
*The exception to the fretless will be the introduction of a Fender 40.5"-scaled Upright, which was to be built in China by Shen but that contract fell through and the upright will be built by Toyoyamatagusaki, a Japanese firm that has a factory on the Russian-Chinese border on the Tumen River near its mouth into the Sea of Japan — literally right on the border, factory workers often have to go through customs just to get to the factory cafeteria and just across the river is North Korea.
