Remember this activity is banned below the Mason-Dixon line (Mason being a great great uncle of Nick Mason), but actively encouraged above it. Banjo stomping season in Vermont runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day, allowing banjos some time to breed the rest of the year, but not so much that every band has one.
Well, he could only choose banjo or bagpipes.
The Mason-Dixon Line was an album of Dave Mason and Willie Dixon blues tunes released in 1991, just before Willie's died.
David Mason is not his real name. His real name is David Bowie, however there was already a little known singer using the name. As he ate his toast covered in home made jam, he adopted a new moniker based on the first thing he saw. But since David Strawberryjam didn't sound very rock n roll, he chose David Mason instead.
David Bowie is of course David Jones who couldn't use that name due to Davy Jones, whose real name was Dave Mason, but that name didn't lend itself to enough puns about pirates to satisfy the writers of the Monkees.
Whilst Mike Nesmith was heir to the whiteout fortune, Peter from the Monkees was heir to a wrench fortune, but his father called it 'torque' rather than 'tork' as he thought the French sounding name would give wrenches a certain je ne sais quois.

After the arrest and incarceration (albeit brief) of Nick Mason, Pink Floyd drummer-fans held a demonstration sit-in and occupied all the streets leading to and from where Nick was being held. These fans-cum-protesters had placards supporting the rights and freedoms of the Pink Floyd drummer, and signs demanding his release were raised.
The throng went mob wild and tried to break their beloved drummer out of jail, in the melee the records as to why Mason was arrested in the first place were destroyed by fire, a fire set my filling pickling jars with petroleum jelly and jettisoning them at the jail (thus arose the term "Mason Jar"). With all the records destroyed, the authorities were unable to further detain Nick, and his fans that supported him through this, and indeed were largely responsible for his release — these fans became known as the "Free-Masons".

I am waiting for the bass Huh? pedal. It has a long ratio bi-lateral co-phasing loop, so that when you lose focus and start hitting random notes, it just goes HUH until you get back in the groove.
Slap/pick/finger conversion pedal announced! It converts whatever style you play to whatever style you want to hear. In the near future you'll see Jazz bassists slap, Punk Rock bassists play finger style and Blues bassists play with a pick.
