Let's spread some musical misinformation

The 5 string bass originally had one partial fret, and was tuned in thirds, some major others minor with g b d f a. There was no fret under the a string. That way the bass player could all notes on the bass clef either open or by using one finger. The reviewer at the patent office rejected the design, because "Sometimes more is less"

1. The five string bass was invented, so bass players sheet music could be written with notes lower than a cello
2. Double bass music was written with two clefs, at the beginning of each staff, so the cello players could have their own music.
3. At one time, j. Edgar Hoover locked up the all upright bass players. Hoover was a cellist, and he got a tone deaf judge to sign the warrants based on a contra-conspiracy charge. The judge's wife had the warrants rescinded because she wanted to hear a double bass ensemble play "The Flight of the Bumblebee"

There's something going on here but I can't make the connection...

Baroque music, begun in the early 17th century and played initially only in continental bars frequented by pimps, painters, poppets and punks, was the very first manifestation of what the world would later come to know as 'pubroque' which then, through the passage of time, became present day 'pub rock'.
