Let's spread some musical misinformation

The Proclaimers originally wanted to be mad scientists and take over the world using an army of 500 Miles Davies clones.
Miles Davies was, of course, the founding drummer for English Mod group The Kinks. He went on to pen such classics as Bitch's Blues and (My) Kind Of Brew.

Hats off to the cunning of Scotsmen using an army of English clones, however the idea was rejected by a grand meeting of the clans held during Edinburgh Festival in 1985.

John Lennon's real name was John Lemon. When the Fab Four first went to the US, journalists confused him Don Lemon (father of Liz Lemon). In typically sarcastic interview style, George told the press that it was Lennon, but that there wasn't enough space, so they squeezed the n and n together. The rest is history.

Led Zeppelin wrote a song about it.

George Harrison's father was Rex Harrison. When Ringo announced he wanted to learn to sing, Rex taught him all he knew.

You've probably heard that a group of crows is called a murder and a group of dolphins is a pod, but do you know these scientific terms to describe groups of musicians?

A group of drummers is a clatter.
A group of horn players is a toot.
A group of singers is a cackle.
A group of theremin players is a twitch.
A group of keyboardists is a tickle.
A group of guitarists is a noodle.
A group of bass players is a bumble.

A group of ukelele players is apparently called an orchestra.
A group of singers is called a nightmare
A group of viola players is also called a nightmare

AntiMusic is actually music produced by ants, but instead of sound waves the ants produce pheromones that vary in intensity and frequency of emittance which is very similar to volume and frequency of sound waves.

Apple Computers was the company that discovered this formerly unbeknownst aspect of Formicidae socialisation, and are bringing out i[devices] that will simulate the ants' pheromonal music, but in an audible way that is discernible to humans — this technology and science of translation of pheromones to soundwaves has been dubbed by Apple as Ant + iMusic together = AntiMusic.
This is not misinformation, but it might be amusing anyway. I once started a band which the drummer named Antejazz, which I misheard as Anti-Jazz. We started off as freeform stream of consciousness jazz, and ended up as a backing band for a D grade calypso singer.

This was our side project from a band which played what could best be described as anti-music.

Not only that, each and every string is broken in, matured and aged by TalkBassists for a minimum of two years.

TalkBass Red Label bass strings are roundwounds crackling with spice and bursting with vibrant, smoky tones. They're a blend that combines brightness and more agressive notes heard at the Whisky out West, creating an extraordinary tone. TalkBass Red Label has hints of cinnamon and pepper, fruity sweetness, and a mellow bed of vanilla, before the TalkBass signature of a long, lingering, smoky finish.

TalkBass Black Label bass strings are rich, complex and incredibly well-balanced groundwounds, full of dark sounds, sweet vanilla and signature smokiness.Blended exclusively from strings matured for at least 12 years, they bring together tones from the four corners of Rock and Roll to create an experience that is complex, deep and rewarding. TalkBass Black Label strings roll decadently over the tones, releasing intense sweet vanillas that give way to orange zest and aromas of spice and raisins. The finish is unbelievably smooth and layered with rich smokey, punchy malt.

TalkBass Double Black bass strings are the Intense Tapewound Blend - powerful, full-bodied and smoky. The heavier influence of the deepest and warmest tones of Rockabilly and early Rock and Roll are immediately apparent, with swirls of soft smoke over rich raisins and fruits - apples, pears and citrus. These soften into sweet vanillas and spice, before developing into a warming finish of oak bass bodies and lingering smokiness.

The unique tone of TalkBass Green Label bass strings is a delicate blend of copper-plated steel, pure nickel, polymer coated and stainless steel of four key signature styles, represented by Sklar, Entwistle, Bruce and Lee. The individual characteristics of these mature aged strings are perfectly balanced to bring together intense tones of crisp cut grass, fresh fruit, wood smoke, pepper, deep vanilla, and sandalwood. They creates a punchy yet warm depth of character that just isn’t possible to achieve with one type of strings alone.

TalkBass Gold Label Reserve taperwound bass strings are known for their creamy smoothness. They open with a luxurious burst of delicate nectar and gentle smokiness that develops into sweet fruits and deeper, velvety, honeyed tones before giving way to sublime, lingering whispers of smoke and oakiness in the finish.

TalkBass Platinum Label bass strings with a secret blend of big, classic TalkBass tones with intriguing contemporary notes of citrus and fragrant almonds. Initially sweet with a warm vanilla undercurrent and a suggestion of punchy tangerines, they move smoothly over the hearing palate into a nutty, malty dryness before a long finish brings elegant suggestions of soft charcoal smokiness and a beautifully bright citrus zest.

TalkBass Blues Label bass strings are incomparably rich and smoky flats, with velvety smooth breaking waves of powerful flavor. Created from hand-selected steel cables of some of the rarest and most exceptional flattened steel, there is no sensory experience quite like TalkBass Blues Label. Hazelnuts, honey, sherry and oranges tumble in first, before releasing hidden secrets like ginger, kumquats, sandalwood and dark chocolate. A rich honey mellow sweetness emerges, accompanied by hints of pepper and dried fruits, before an impossibly long, lingering, smooth finish of perfectly balanced, deep, dark, smokey tones.

And have some Johnnie Walker while you're at it.
This is clearly misinformation. Genuine TB strings are all variations on carrot flavour.

Right, those with blue eyes, and play the blues, with their eyes open, will have music so sad that it can KILL EVERYONE!

I should know, it killed me once. I got better.
And that is where the song Behind Blue Eyes came from. It was originally sung at a concert in Leeds and Townsend had his eyes wide open but the entire audience died from sadness. The song is only now sung live if Townsend hides behind a curtain while singing.

There have been a number of rock and pop stars with only one name, e.g. Prince, Sting, Lulu, Cher, Bono, etc. In a new policy UNESCO will assign them names taken from rock and pop stars, e.g. John Paul Jones, John Cougar Mellencamp, etc, who have too many names.

Thus Sting will be Sting Pole, and Edward Tudor-Pole, just Ed Tudor. This handily also commemorates Sting's tantric interests.

Cher will be Cher Cougar.

Bono will be Paul Bono, and John Paul Jones will be just John Jones.

Prince will be known as The Heron Prince, and along with a renamed Gil Scott, they will collaborate in heaven on a funk-folk reworking of Arthurian legends. Rick Wakeman has already been signed up via ouija board to arrange the orchestral parts after he dies.

Led Zeppelin wrote a song about it.

Led Zeppelin called it The Lemon Song so the daft Americans wouldn't understand the true meaning.
It is said that if you play the song backwards, you can hear the phrase "Ringo is my Satan" because Rex Harrison (George's father) also taught Ringo the demonic ability of talking with the animals.

I'm pretty sure John Paul Jones is just the full name of a shape-shifter from Mars. After centuries of fighting crime he retired. He put down his cape to play music. Here he is before shifting into his more popular appearance as a musician.

He had to add his middle name for when going on stage to try to throw people off. He realized people were asking too many questions about not ever seeing the two in the same room together. Of course if you ask him he'll deny everything.

Will Bono’s son be Sonny Bono?
