Compressor pedals are named after air compressors, because both can be very noisy.
Air compressors are best when playing air guitar or air bass.
Not any more. Downtown Dubuque used to be pretty rough. A few things cleaned it up though. There was the floods that forced a lot of low rent places to shutdown. The casinos moved in and brought some money. Then there was that motivational speaker that was making his rounds about 25 years ago. Turns out that a lot of kids were motivated to not grow up to be a guy living in a van down by the river. Maybe you've heard of this speaker? Matt Foley was his name.Sounds like a pretty tough place,better guard your pickle-low!
Matt Foley was instrumental in motivating Phil Collins to try a solo career.
I believe that's what the ports on bass cabs are for. The Dyson 4x10cab is the most powerful of its kind. It comes with a heppa envelope filter,best in the biz.
Line 6 just inked a deal with Fleshlight to have a Fleshlight installed in the backs of their upcoming guitar combos.
The only thing I know about that is your guitarists really shouldn't buy any of those used once they start showing up on CL or get returned to GC.

It seems neo cabs may be a thing of the past.Ampeg is working on a new cabinet that they are going to call the"HELIO". Inside the cab are two stainless steel cylinders,each holding 25 lbs of helium. They have two way valves,one to let the gas in one to let it out. When you want to move any heavy cabinet,you fill the cylinders with helium.when you get where you want the cabinet to sit you empty the gas into a portable reserve tank. This makes an 8x10 cab weigh 20 lbs. Every cab has been weighed,and the proper amount of gas figured out for each. They decided that 20 lbs would be the weight they will make each cab. Obviously, there has to be safety built in, like valves that only allow a specific amount of gas into the cylinders,for obvious reasons, you don't want your cab floating away. Imagine loading a large PA system, even amp racks will weigh only 20 lbs,bass cabs,marshal stacks only weigh 20 lbs. Next they plan to use this system to make SVT's weigh only 20 lbs.

Orange Amps just debuted an inline isobaric 8x10. It features 8 - 10 inch speakers each lined up behind the other and sealed in an it's own chamber. Dimensions are: 13"W x 13"H x 60"D......Weight: 98lbs.......
A# minor was 7up's original name, as the CEO was an accomplished Bluegrass player from down South, and originally wanted a beverage that the good ole boys could call their own.
The idea of course was ultimately nixed, since they figured the general public didn't know that when them good ole boys would perform in public, instead of yelling out the key, they would hold there hand upwards with the appropriate amount of outstretched fingers designating the sharps, downwards, the flats....
So the idea got sort of canned.

Orange (not to be confused with blue, green, etc.) audio engineers refer to this device as an SC, or Sound Cannon. The "cannon" fires projectiles in the shape of musical notes. It can handle individual notes and even two and three note chords quite well, but can jam when attempting to reproduce complex chords.
One Orange engineer named Red was standing behind a prototype cab when a co-worker attempted to play a chord using all 6 strings of a 6-string bass. This blew out the back of the cab, nearly castrating Red. They now call him "CD", short (no pun intended) for "Collateral Damage".

The only problem, if the helium leaks into the speakers your bass sounds like a ukulele.
