Let's spread some musical misinformation

To save on materials and labor, basses will be fretted in a more economical way. Frets will stop after the fourth position, as the next string can be used instead. Only the highest pitched string will retain the full number of frets.

The full number of frets being five.

Five shall be the count of the frets, and the fret count shall be five. Countest not to four, save that thou then countest to five. Six is right out!

Picking up my tube amp (Traynor yba 200-2) from the tech today. It’s 200 ‘tube watts,’ which translates to 1,326 solid state watts and 19,496.0095 class D watts

To calculate Youtube watts post a video of you playing through the amp, then amplify the watts (as calculated above) times the number of views your video gets.

D sharp tuning requires barbed strings, which is why it is such a rarely used tuning.

Because we've become a nation of gutless wonders! "Oh, look, my finger's bleeding. Now I have to commit suicide and post it on Facebook!"

Back in the day I and REAL MEN like me sometimes had to make due with razor wire for strings. You didn't hear us whining like a bunch of emo little b1tches. Why, I played without fingers for a while. No pain, no gain, I always said. Man up, ya chicken littles!

My uncle used to buy strings from Gillette and played with butcher mitts. Those razor strings became quite popular, not only for holding their D sharp tuning but for a really nice shave. The closest thing you can get now is the Mach 4, but they start to sound dull after about a week.

And Gillette shaving cream can be used as a foam mute near the bridge to give your bass that Motown sound.

People think Hendrix used to play with his teeth, but he was actually employing a "life hack" and shaving during the gig.
