Let's spread some musical misinformation

Ah, but we had secretly planted a Brit in that band! The second attempt was more subtle, which was to replace all USA actors with Canadian ones as a halfway-house to British. Now we are onto attempt three: deploying the royal family to California. Harry's a military man and trained in how to use even an avocado as a weapon.

Lord have mercy! Those crafty Brits! A wily bunch!

Yes. It requires a light touch with your foot, though.
I forgot to mention that it's advisable to tie a couple of cinder blocks to the body of your bass the first time you try this method. And have your car parked a good distance from the big picture window in the front of your house.

That's nothing. Before all the safety hoo-hah about carbon monoxide not being good for you my band used to use a Triumph Bonneville motorcycle with a harmonica in the tail pipe when doing Taxi Grab from Jethro Tull's Too Old to Rock and Roll: Too Young to Die. That's a bit easier to control with a hand throttle, though.

That’s why the Electric Light Orchestra were ahead of their time... they knew there was a place for the cello - so much so that they used 2, and even threw in a violin for good measure!

ELO was so called as they used standard hollow cellos, not solid body cellos. That what Lynne's short-lived Electric Orchestra used, but a hernia later and he learned his lesson.

They called themselves Electric Light Orchestra because they did intend to use the whole orchestra as part of the show, but they realised they didn't have room in the rehearsal space for a horn section, woodwind section, or a triangle player, so when the 2 cellists and the violin player were first to arrive at the rehearsal room, they realised there was no room for anyone else, so they were the only ones they kept from the orchestra

That's the story they tell, but in reality, Jeff Lynne couldn't do the math to figure out everyone's share. It was easier to fire people until the $100/gig payed everyone without owing anyone.

I'm a member of a Twitch group where a vendor showcases their songs for the week, & it seems like every time I tune in they're talking bull at one point or another.
The most recent one I can recall was specifically about basses.

They had a bass there with PASSIVE Rockfield pickups, but since it had two batteries in it they exclaimed that the pickups were VERY Active!
I tried to correct them, as I'm known to do, but was ignored. Commented about it the next day on their FB mention of the stream, still nothing.

So these idiots had just broadcast to hundreds of people completely false information & led them to believe battery = active pickups, which is so FALSE!

myth busting - just because your bass has a battery, doesn't mean the pickups are active

James Corden too. Swore an oath the Her Majesty to bring the USA to heel, one guest at a time.

Corden went to work and immediately developed a segment called Carpoul Karaoke for MI6.

Corden's plan was to entrap the FLOTUS by mounting an automobile onto a trailer, pulling up beside her on the sidewalk and singing Hasselhoff's version of "Jump in my Car" - a song developed by Australian Secret Service as a mind control device, known to soften brain cells.

The plan worked. Not only had FLOTUS got into a neutered car incapable of causing carnage while "driven" by a fat Limey more used to driving on the wrong side of the road (violating his 94th Amendment rights to raise arms and sing "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" - written by a registered blind person - whilst in no control of a vehicle), she had failed to notice that Carpoul Karaoke was an anagram of "UK OK - Palace Roar" which the British Tabloids wasted no time in propagandizing as unconditional surrender.

In a humiliating treaty not seen since Agincourt, the USA were forced to hand over Meghan Markle to "spare heir" beirdy ginger Harry who was subsequently crowned Henry IX of Malibu. The outgoing administration left a blueprint to ensure this never happened again, but only "change name to Carpool Karaoke" was ever enacted by their successors.

Of course batteries = active pickups. And more batteries = more active pickups. I know a guy who has 5 batteries in his bass and I have seen him take home two or three girls on more than one occasion. So clearly batteries = active pickup(s).
