I don't understand frets. If frets wear, it's considered annoying. Then the luthier dresses the frets so they wear again.

I don't understand frets. If frets wear, it's considered annoying. Then the luthier dresses the frets so they wear again.
If you don't understand frets.... Don't fret about it... Your understanding will sprout if not the frets themselves!
The best way to wind boutique custom bass pickups is by using the feet.
My luthier has gnarled feet but I swear it’s just the effects of that tone and all or something like that.
My view on his gnarled feet is my opinion but the first statement is a musical FACT.
My second related fact I’ll share with you here is that the best strings for all musical styles on a four string bass are .050-.130 gauge using the highest action possible.
It won’t look playable and won’t feel so at first but give it a week and you’ll have permanent stank face.
I’ll be by to share facts about cabinet building some other time as I have plans for a 6x15 rig that is surprisingly portable and let’s just say I’ve figured which is best the 10”/12” or 15”.
That answer is ALL of ‘em! Don’t worry I’m an engineer so you’ll see the data.

DO you have to tune a Bass, I thought they were set at the factory..........
A vest made of bass strings can be very useful if you are playing a gig in a place with a tough and slightly stabby crowd.
