Really depends on your amp, cabinets, strings, and everything else...
For me, the Malekko B:assmaster is my favorite. Loads of texture (fuzz) while still maintaining note definition. IMO muddy notes only sound cool when you're playing solo, but you disappear when a guitar starts playing... I want each note to be clear and distinct in a band situation.
The Wooly Mammoth was great for similar reasons, but sounded a little too synthy for me (B:assmaster is more retro).
I'm not a fan of Muffs.
