Wondering if anyone has an internal gut-shot of a 2020S? I was curious if the transformer could be mounted internally on a bass for a little secret sauce direct off the output of the bass.
I don’t but I would only explore that idea with an active bass.
Personally I tend to enjoy these little guys the most when feeding them a fairly hot signal.
And for the record, I enjoy them quite a bit… I have 2 of the original 2020s and 4 of the newer 2020Ss scattered throughout a few different rigs.

I replaced the jacks on one of mine when it didn't work out of the box. Inadvertently popped one of the jacks off the pcb, so replaced them with switchcraft.
Did you guys see Mike's email/blog post? He is ending production of the 2020S, 2020i, and TI Box. Luckily I was able to get a few of the last batch of the 2020S pre-order. So glad, but sad they are ending.
This is bad news, especially because, to the best of my knowledge, he is the only one making an instrument transformer in a pedal format with a 1/4" unbalanced output. Hopefully there will be another product in his future line-up that offers a similar feature in a compact format as well.

Hi, Folks. Thanks for the support. I appreciate it a lot. I read your feedback and use it to grow. There's a new EQ Mod for the DiVision as a result of that (see site). I know a lot of you would love if I started making pedals again or especially if I brought a few choice pieces back into the fold. Well, as a 1-man operation that's not realistic. However, I have had seasonal help over the past couple years from a college student who kicks ass and keeps coming back. I'm hoping Paul reads this and recognizes that I value his quick learning, advanced skill set, and his unwavering dedication to the work we do for the sake of capturing the emotion of sound. If he picks up a full time gig with me after this school year, I can see some past ideas potentially resurfacing and/or some new ones that are even better! Regardless though, I'm working on a new thing called the "Dark Storm" that I think bass players may have some interest in after they see the companion product that will come out several months later. Stay tuned my friends. Thank you for your support!

Awesome @lightningboy Mike! Thanks for continually updating us and for your good work. You are always so good at unique offerings and I, for one, always enjoy what you develop.
I also happened to resolve the microphonic tube noise some of you were experiencing. Existing owners can upgrade by first emailing [email protected] with your DiVision serial number. The DiVision product page has details on the mods. I personally find the Lo Range setting very useful in general. I'm probably going to leave mine set to that with the vision knob dimed. You can get an upper-mid bell curve boost by doing just that, but by also engaging the dark switch. To my ears that makes the bass sound more present in the mix without sounding bright.
Just chiming in here as a recent convert to the 2020s. In my set up its effect is most pronounced between the TRex BassJuice which is the cream coloured pedal top row and a Hyper Luminal comp. The BassJuice is set to a very light drive -it’s really just enhancing the clean signal with a touch of added top and slight grit. I’ve noticed the 2020s compliments this and adds a fullness to that sound and really pairs wonderfully without being intrusive or muddy. The TRex and HL are routed into the always on loop on the Basswitch which itself has a TX lurking within. Im not sure if it’s TX is only on the DI out but running those two pedals direct to the amp and then running them into the Basswitch really ‘cleaned things up’. Either way this config sounds great and really enhances my jazz bass. I’ve a little experimenting to do with drive pedals downstream of this but the AOmicrom is a nice match and quite pleasing… for now
If anyone is thinking of moving on their (or one of their) 2020s units and doesn’t mind shipping to Scotland get in touch! I’d really like to hear how another one impacts the sound/tone of my rig. One is pretty cool but two is ‘more better’ right
And the two new 2020s arrived. Definitely hear an added weight with two in line and gonna go back and try all three once I have more time. I said above but I feel it really adds to the overall sound of my jazz bass. Putting this board together was all in a bid to enhance the jazz bass tone which I think I’ve nailed for my ear. The 2020s’ have been the secret sauce to add that final touch.
As for placement of the last 2020s I may put it between my board and amp input in the first instance to hear how it works but it could be that two is enough! I’ll not really get a chance until

Just has a bit of time to play around more and adding a couple of these after a SGFX Beta really evened out the low mid bump in the Beta (some love it, some find it too much) but it add's in some nice 'top end' too. It's a eally good pairing as they balance each other out. It's a powerful sound which I'd happily gig any nivght of the week!
You need an active circuit to function as a buffer. The 2020 & 2020S are passive but pickup some love as the signal travels through the transformer.
