Try a 2020 in the effects loop of the SLO III? Would that be worthwhile? Or better between bass and SLO input?Oh, that is an interesting idea. I'll try that.
Now I’m confused. Mike states that it can be used either way with no difference.so when I accidentally tried it backwards it sucked all of the tone out of my signal. Then I switched it and everything was ok
Seriously, this thing is great. It makes me sound more like a record. So far have only used it first in the chain, with headphones, practicing along with recordings of my cover band. I fit in better. I feel as though I can use the compressor and preamp downstream more aggressively because what's coming in is better.
Lol. Sorry, missed that by a mile.I think he was kidding.
Got mine today. This Little box has some weight to it. I was very impressed with the packaging. I’m gonna use it tonight. First thing I noticed is that my volume seemed to go up. I will do a bunch of tests on my days off and compare.
It’s technically not impossible. A step up transformer might be able to do it, but this is a 1:1 transformer. There’s no such thing as a perfect transformer, so scientifically it is impossible for a 1:1 transformer to experience no volume loss. Therefore, it can not boost your volume. It was carefully designed to exhibit the least amount of volume loss I could possibly squeeze out of it. The truth is it does sound to my ears almost like a boost because it does add character in a frequency range sensitive to our ears. I think this character does make the instrument sound stand in the foreground of a mix a little better. Thanks for the support, guys!Isn't it impossible for a passive box to cause your volume to go up? I know what you mean. I don't need as much volume to be heard. It's as if it increases your personality.
I was thinking of putting one after a spark booster to drive the transformer harder
