Happily trending in my own peculiar direction.
I gotta get off my assets and get my SSDI into my Scarlett. I just can’t tear myself away from my Barefaced cabs long enough to do it so far.
I've tried both before and after, but so far I've only tried it with the OCSD through my recording setup. Its easier and more convenient with a 2020 in the HXS loop since I can skip the interface and have everything I need by just connecting the HXS via USB.. To get similar results, the most noticeable difference is with the 2020 placed before the OCSD then out to the interface. Sound-wise either is great and I'm still experimenting. It also sounds like the 2020 opens up the cab sims a bit more too
Just got mine today. Tried it before and after the dirt stage. Sits after the dirt stage for now. Love it. The effect it *not* subtle.
after doing some ab testing with the 2020 I think I will leave it at the beginning of my chain because that’s the only time I noticed it did anything. It’s very subtle and I doubt you could hear any difference in a mix.

Yeah I was considering just getting one but after watching that demo video I went ahead and ordered 2 of them.
It almost seemed like going from one of them to two of them was a bigger difference than going from 0 to 1.
I guess I’ll know for sure in a few more days though, my tracking info says to expect them on Tuesday.

There won't be a list. Attempting an official release for June 1st. Hoping to have continuous inventory from then on. The plan is to ship weekly accumulated orders out on the same day each week to keep my workflow efficient. Starting the manufacturing process for the second run tomorrow.

Just received my 2020 - played around with it a good bit already in a bunch of different positions.
For now it is going in the fx loop of an HX Stomp with a ZVex Basstortion driving it. I mostly have the Basstortion set to a relatively clean boost setting (gain around 9 o'clock), and then the volume is maxed out pushing the 2020. Sounds wonderful, just adds a more 3-D and vivid quality to the sound to my ear. Relatively subtle and nuanced, similar to the attributes of high quality DI boxes, and other transformer equipped studio gear run in "bypass" (something I have done regularly in the past with an API EQ).
Where it becomes most noticeable to my ear is after gain stages, where it helps to tighten and focus the sound, which simultaneously lends some perceived clarity, "bigness", and articulation to the sound.
It also pairs fantastically with a clean boost - in my case a TC Spark, which can really push the 2020 hard which certainly enhances the mojo. In fact I'd be interested the possibilities of a 2020 fully integrated into a clean boost pedal.
I regret only getting one from this initial run; I can definitely see me adding more to my collection when they are in regular production.

I was thinking a while ago that the 2020 with an integrated boost would be brilliant.
The NuVision with transformer maybe?
For some reason I've been dreaming of a... dream team scenario with Lightning boy transformers in Arkham products... DI Oracle? It would need different housing, but still...

No. The zapping typically occurs when the amps and PA are not connected to the same AC distribution outlets (or when they are on the same distribution outlets but some of the sockets are wired incorrectly). Having the 2020 in your chain will not protect against that.
