Line 6 HX Effects

Have you tried inverting polarity?
I did on the HX FX. It gives a different sound.
I really need to record it
In a track to really have an opinion.

And I have the Stomp to try it on now.

My standard to compare to is the MXR Bass Octave Deluxe. I also have an OC3, but I used OC2 since they were first invented. But like the mids of the MXR

I have been so stupid. Ever since I got the HX I have been struggling to make to make a good fake guitar tone.
Previously I had a Digitech RP360XP on my board fed by the upper octave of a TC SubNUp.
Right now I have the octaver in an FX loop going through the distortion introduced in patch 2.60 and an IR, but it's just not the same as going through an amp sim.

Then I just remembered: I have you guys here! :D
Does anyone have a patch with a convincing distorted guitar tone?

PS: I am thinking about getting one of the Mooer micro preamps to solve the issue, but I would rather find a solution in HX.

How exactly do you 'invert polarity'? I haven't found a way of doing this.
There is Mixer block on point where two parallel paths are connected again. When you enter it there is B polarity switch. Set it from Normal to Invert.

Bass Octaver is great but compared to OC2 when you play it blended with dry, it has that separated feel when you can distinct two voices easily. And it has more bottom end which can be better for some applications.
OC2 (or when you invert octave signal polarity on BO) has blend which is more like one fat tone harmonicaly rich and integrated.
It's matter of taste.

Simple Pitch can serve as good octaver also.

I’ve been doing a little shootout between HX FX Obsidian/IR and the Stomp SVT/B15/Cab
I can duplicate the sound of the Amp/Cab but the HX FX doesnt sound bad next to it. Just different

TO THE PEOPLE WANTING AMPS ON THE HX FX
On the Stomp yesterday, I had a preset where I didn't have enough DSP to load the 6th block that I wanted.
SO in addition to cannibalizing their Helix LT sales, I think that's why they aren't interested in putting Amps in the FX.

Unless you were using a bunch of very low DSP blocks (like Send/Returns) you would be running out.
I'd still like to have the option though :)

...which is the same issue I took with Zoom and the B3. The G3 (guitar version) received an update that allowed up to 6 effects in a chain (DSP permitting), and Zoom decided NOT to give the same functionality for the B3 - saying that 'bass guitar processing can take up more DSP and the unit would reach its limit'. So, instead of offering the option and allowing users to have maybe one always-on effect with three switchable effects, they didn't update and left the B3 with just three effects per patch.

Then Zoom offers 9 effects per chain in the B3n -- but the unit didn't sound as good as the B3. :'(

The 'You bassists would cry and moan if you couldn't link up six Amp/Cab sims and three massive reverbs' - so we won't let you have them' is just irksome.

Wow. Well that’s lame. Dang.

Hey all. I need some help. Can the HX allow me to run a duel rig setup? Like have one clean and one dirty rig?? I thought so but I can’t seem to wrap my head around it.....

Here’s what I’m trying to run:

But I’m running the electric into the fender and the GK into the GK.

Now, what do I do???

Yes.
You can simply connect both HX outs to your 2 amps.
Both will get the same signal.
Or you could send a split signal to one of the amps but you start to use up blocks.

Running dual amps, I used to just use a Volume pedal to split.
The Vol pedal fades the dirty amp up and down.
Then it was super easy to run an effect chain only to the clean amp.

Neither using extra blocks, nor fx loops:
-Split A and B wherever you want.
-Place the mixer at the end.
-Set path A to left output, path B to right output

So how do I set up a signal flow to make one amp dirty and one amp clean?

In other words, I want the signal running from my HX through my board to my amp to be the clean pretty much. Then I want the HX to be the dirty signal. What block do I use to split that with?
