Line 6 HX Effects

So how do I set up a signal flow to make one amp dirty and one amp clean?

In other words, I want the signal running from my HX through my board to my amp to be the clean pretty much. Then I want the HX to be the dirty signal. What block do I use to split that with?
You can add a Drive block and then drop it to a parallel path and then pan A left and B right in the mixer where it rejoins

Well I got both rigs going. Now I’m just trying to figure out how I want everything signal ran.

I’ve got be peavey going into send 1 on the HX. The electric is going into the main mono out. This is my first shot at doing this so it’s probably not the best way. Im just learning how to do it ya know. But I can toggle my peavey/clean amp in and out when I want to this way.

Now what I’m working on it how to signal route. This was really confusing at first. Still is. But I’m getting there. Slowly haha.

I’m just trying to figure out where to put where. I’ll need to redo my board to get what I’m after I think. Cause the whammy and octaves and comp are going into the clean. Which isn’t bad I guess. Actually that may be a better way to go. And everything else goes to the dirty/electric amp. I would like to find a way to send my preamps to both amps. Is that even possible or is it one of the other??

You might be over thinking this. In the signal flow you have pictured here, the first two blocks will feed both outputs. Go to the mixer at the end of the flow, touch the Mixer switch to bring the mixer Params to the scribble strips. There you can pan A path to the Left out, and B path to the right out. (or vice-versa). The first two blocks and the A path will feed one amp, and the first two blocks and the B path will feed the other amp. Simple, yet crazy cool powerful.

I know I am haha that’s why it’s taken me so long to wrap my head around it. Ok, I’m following you. But how do I run all the cabeling in that case? I have one cable running from the mono out and one out of the send 1....suggestions? Or keep it that way and follow your description above?

Not sure how to answer this. Guess it depends on if/how you want to use your sends. The way I described you would use your main outs to feed the amps. This is not the 4 cable amp switching set up, but feeding both amps at once. There are different places you could use expression to adjust volume of one or probably both outputs, but I haven’t gone there yet....

I really want to run two rigs but not really stereo. If that’s right? I want one dirty, one clean. Could/should I hook it up like a stereo setup you think or use the send/returns for the way I’m describing?

The way I have it now I’m only using one send to one rig. And that works. But I feel like I’m not utilizing it the best way possible. What I really need to do it rearrange my board to suite the method I want to run it in. I have so many options if I wanted. Like I could run the rusty box as my clean pre and my B7KU as my dirty pre. Hmmmmmm....I’m starting to really get ideas here....

Any luck with getting a good envelope filter sound? I´ve been trying to get that Guyatone "BWAAOW" sound but without success. I´ve been using the Helix Auto Filter but have no real clue about how to set it up, especially the attack and decay time or freq range. I also suspect that my hot active basses are to high output because the filter reacts to the slightest touch regardless of how I set the sensitivity knob. Maybe I have to lower the gain before the filter effect?

This is the type of sound I´m after:

I’m gonna wait and see what other more exp filter addicts like @fivestringgecko says, but I’m pretty sure you can get a pretty close replication of this sound on the HX. Never played a BWR but I have the zoom ms60b and it has a BWR model and I love that thing. Always meant to get one but I’m not a huge filter user. I know you can dial in a pretty decent filter like tbis on the HX. Not dead nuts, but in the ballpark.

Thanks, hopefully some of the filter nuts shimes in!
Yeah, I’m pretty shure ut should be possible but like you I’m not a big filter user.

Have you tried the Mutant?
It's got all the controls you need
