Line 6 HX Effects

I'm curious about the differences between the two. I think I read somewhere along the way that the Barefoot buttons also still have touch capacitance through the screws on the sides, is that correct?

The guitarist for my band has the Ceba toppers and likes them a lot, but I do like the look of the Barefoot ones better.

5sg.

Yep, I can touch the screws for the touch capacity

I want the touch feature of the ones made by Chad or whoever makes them. Even though I don’t use that feature all the time, I want to be able to utilize it with ease. I feel like trying to touch the screw would be tedious at times. Maybe I’m wrong. But that’s how I see it and what caused me to go with his instead of the barefoot buttons. They look damn good though. I feel the helix stuff looks amazing with toppers.

I'm curious as well about his. Tbh I completely forgot about them when I ordered the Barefoots. Id they have touch capacity id totally go with his.

Their availability was spotty for a while. That’s why I kept forgetting about them. But I remember seeing chad post something in on FB about them coming back soon. So I’m glad I caught this preorder this time!

How do they stay on in transit? I have the backpack and it gets transported at least twice a week. I do like the look of the magnetic ones best and the functionality for sure.

While I have yet to transport mine with the new switch toppers, my initial vigorous testing, (upside down shaking, stomping from various angles with varied force) has convinced me that the forces required to dislodge the magnetic toppers would do harm to the internal workings, or snap off a foot switch before you’d lose a topper.

I’ve got Barefoot Buttons on mine, and it’s actually not that bad to just touch a screw to open something up for editing. Obviously not as handy as just being able to touch the top of the button, but still very usable. However, if I had it to do over again, I’d probably go the route you’re going.

Anyone ever try to make a bass sound like a flute?? They’ve asked me to play the flute intro for Can’t you see. I just started playing with it. I got the pitch where I want it, but haven’t had much progress on the rest. I’ve got a few patches the emulate strings and I thought about loading one of those and noodling around with it.

Any thoughts?

That will be a tough one. Check out patches from these guys - might have something close... Shop - Worship Tutorials

thanks! I like their stuff and use one of their patches on Sunday. I’ve sort of played around with modding one of their “swell” group of blocks. In the end, I’ve let the guitar player take the lead.

I like the swell they have but I have found that using an EHX Canyon gets me there a little quicker. I probably just need to play with theirs more. I figured of what they had that might be closest. I know on some synths you can get more organ type, but haven’t heard a flute unless you have a MIDI pickup.

Is there a way to use an expression pedal to blend in a patch, like the Ernie Ball Ambient Delay pedal does?
Yes, very simple using a A/B split: one path with your effects, another path with nothing. And the "Route to" parameter assigned to your controler. It will route from 100% A to 100% B depending on the pedal posision.
