Line 6 M5

Same here: got it on wednesday and tested yesterday then i brought it with me at a gig with my Pearl Jam tribute band, first impressions: great analog chorus, great pitch glide (thanks cybersnyder :)), and also a surprisingly good tube drive (with bass knob pumped up). I also enjoy some of The reverbs. My question is about The filters: not having The time this weekend to test all of them, i was wandering of there's one good reproduction of bassballs or kinda. More specific: i'm after roger waters bass sound in "young lust" live version: with my pedalboard i'm very near that sound with a hint of bassballs into a mxr90. Any advice for having something similar with m5?

Thanks

Ouch: just playing again with my new toy: the first knob on the left, the one you push to switch among reverb, dist, mod, etc. seems not to work anymore. Tried replug several times but nothing and also the factory reset procedure doesnt work since when i push the knob, holding the tap, it doesnt work. Anyone experienced something like that, maybe a fw update is available?

Thanks

Unfortunately that sounds like busted hardware. Take it back for an exchange.

Oh, did you try PitchGlide +12.0 with a 40/60 mix to give you an 8 string that does "Jeremey" nicely?

Absolutely yes my friend: tested And played yesterday live at a gig. Mix at 45: sounded great, way better than my old champ micropog. Really thank you for the tip :)

In only two days i founded lot of very good sounds: pitch glide, script phaser, analog chorus, dimension, tube drive, octave fuzz..And a bunch of others. So disappointed for this problem but the seller will exchange it for me :)

i really need to sit down with my M5 this weekend and work out some presets. ive only used it at 1 live gig had it for about a week now. useful settings ive used are the auto volume swell, harmonic with upper 5th mix at half, pitch glide, voice box filter and growler filter

my advice is to give a try to analog chorus, dimension chorus, script phaser and barberpole phaser. the last one, in particular, really surprised me for its kinda autowah-ish sound

ciao

By the way, I don't know if anybody else has tried a midi dump yet, but the manual is wrong about how to do it. It says to hold the tap switch while pressing down the model select knob. I couldn't get that to work. After a lot of frustration, I think I succeeded by holding down the ON/OFF switch instead of the tap.

I say that I think I've succeeded only because I haven't tried to load presets back in. I'm scared that if I screwed up I'll lose everything on there.

Anybody else played around with this pedal and sysex yet?

Can anyone tell me if the M5 can do a fifth up and an octave up? I'm looking for something to do the Akai Unibass think, i.e., create power chords from a single note. Is the M5 limited to one pitch shift at a time, or can it do more than one?

Does anyone know if they're going to add sensitivity adjustment for the envelope-following effects? They're all pretty useless as it stands. :(

Also output level controls for some of the too-loud effects would make the M-series pedals a lot more useful.
