List your "never-sell" axes!

There are only two that I'd consider "unsellable":

A 1971 Fender Precision that was played by Jaco Pastorius; when I had a lesson with him, I brought it with me and he played it briefly to assess it. He advised me to add a Jazz Bass bridge pickup (which I did as soon as I got home).

A 1981 G&L L2000E which was "born" on the exact 10th anniversary of my father's death (sounds morbid, but it's just that the date has meaning); also, I like to think that Leo Fender personally sneezed on it, or something. ;)

I recall somewhere reading that Leo did the final QC on most, if not all, the basses in the first year or so of production. If you pull the neck, you might find his initials there.

I can't imagine ever selling this (short of a financial crises)...

of all the basses I still have which would be for sale "yesterday" for the right price, here's one I would take to my grave:

.

not that it is anything "really" special tonality, and playability wise I have a couple main basses that play similar, but Jackson didn't make enough Tbirds for me to ever find another one IF I did sell it off :)

I have played many basses, but my all time favorite is my Roscoe SKB 3005. It has the tones and action that I have been looking for.

:hyper:

Man, I can't believe it took 9 PAGES for someone to mention a Roscoe! :rollno:

That said, here's mine - Roscoe #5778

This one's never ever going up for sale. I sold 3 basses just to get it (including a Modulus Q5, which I bought brand new 4 months prior to falling in love with the Roscoe.)
This bass has seen 3 Laklands, an Elrick, 3 Fenders, 3 Warwicks, and an SX come and go. She plays nice with my other Roscoe, so it can stay too :D

The 1st one I can understand...the 2nd one maybe not as much, but hell, if Leo himself PERSONALLY had something to do with the manufacture I get it!

"NEVER" sell?? Under the right situation, I honestly can't think of Anything I'd "Never" sell....but I'd be hard-pressed to part with my "babies". ;)
