List your "never-sell" axes!

Could never part with my 1983 Wal mk1 custom fretless which I've owned since new. Apart from it feeling like a part of me it was bought for me by my late father in 1983 for my 21st birthday. Went into the shop to visit it, as you do with things you cant afford to see a sold sign with my name on it!!! He was the best and so is this bass.

Every bass I buy to play, is for keeps. My list at this point numbers 16. I am still looking to add 4 more basses. Top of the list is my 1981 Hondo Longhorn, My 1978 Modulus Prototype Quantum Bassstar 5 string, My 2006 Fender Precision Deluxe 5 string and on and on.

I will never sell my Fenders!
Last night I played my fender SB6 with my jazz trio and man the bass was amazing. some of my students came to the gig and they were completely amaized....by my playing. :ninja:

I wouldn't sell either of these for any amount of money.

Nothing can replace the personal history I have with these two.

Any other bass in the inventory could be parted with , no problem at all, but these two would be like selling a member of my family. Not gonna happen. Not for any price.

Savit, I believe you on the old P, but I'm thinking you could be persuaded on the SX for the "right" price. Let's not get carried away! :)

Not a chance!

I have WAY too much history playing that bass. It serioulsy is like a family member. Not going anywhere for any price. :) Some things you just can't put a price tag on.

I've said before, and I'll say it again, I wouldn't trade that SX for a Trailer Load of Sadowsky's.

I told myself I'd never sell my Marcus Miller Jazz... then I was laid off, going to college and couldn't even find a part time job. I sold the Miller for food money and haven't regretted it. I wish I still had it, but I would have rather eaten.

I'll take well fed nobody over starving musician any day.

What about cash value for a truck load of Sadowskys? Let's say 50k? You seriously wouldn't sell that SX for 50k? How can you say that with a straight face?

50K doesn't replace the personal history I have with that bass. It truely is priceless to me in my world. There are lot of personal milestone in my bass playing career that I assosiate with those two basses.

I hold it in equal value (to me) with the old Precision.

Those two basses "brought me to the dance" so to speak. I can't put a price tag on that.

Ok Savit, but I've seen photos of you, you are my age -- I mean if you were one of these kids on here I could see that attitude... but I'll take you at your word. :) You must be a very wealthy man is all I can figure! :) Perhaps Kurt could use your post to sell a few more basses.

Nope, certainly not wealthy, FAR FAR from it , but like I said, I can't put a price tag on the memories I've made playing that bass. Memories that I couldn't replace playing any other bass.

I guess I've just been real lucky to catch some cool breaks, for a guy that plays a cheap o bass. :)
