List your "never-sell" axes!

I'm sort of a pack rat when it comes to band gear, and I've only ever sold off a few things that just didn't work out from the start. I'm at around 12 basses these days and 7 amps. But if the house was to catch on fire, I'd run back in for my '63 Portaflex, the Gibson Blackbird, and my '93 Ibanez SR-800EG. All others can be replaced. The modified Blackbird has been my go to bass for the last 5 years and is the bass I now compare all others too. It sounds acoustically like no other T-bird I have ever played. The SR800EG was my very first bass, and I worked my ass off in college to buy that - so that one has a lot of sentimental value to it. The '63 Portaflex was just restored and damnit, I just put all that work into it - so I want to gig out with it! LOL

I wouldn't sell any of these. Not because they're "magical" instruments, but because I'd never ever pay the price it would take to replace them.

For me - It's my 1980 something MIJ Fender Precision Bass Lyte.

The funny thing is, I absolutely hate the way it looks… BUT it feels perfect and sounds great to me. It’s light, ergonomic, has a variety of sounds that I find easy enough to dial in, and that work well with the music I play, and the neck is what I consider perfect in every way. Other people think it looks like a nice bass… so whatever… I hate the way it looks – so what. It’s comfy and sounds great . I will never let it go.

Ohhhh, hang around for a while, see enough zombie threads, and be able to memorize useless crap and it's kind of funny to see the trends sometimes. I've seen someone say that Bass A is the best thing they've ever played, they sing praise whenever possible, form the Bass A club....then sell the it.

yeah, just go to the classifieds and type in "feeler" and you will see a grocery list of basses no one was every going to sell starting with... i make take this off here or i have reservations about this but...
