Long Lost and Forgotten TB Favorites

I definitely lurked for a long time before signing up but at the time (around 2013-2014) the vt bass was very popular. I got it mainly because of tb hype and sold it not long after..
On the other hand my first fuzz was a tafm based off tb reviews and im still loving it to this day.
I havnt jumped on the southampton/broughton bandwagon that seems to dominate here atm though... Maybe one day.

wasn't popular at the time but I'm fairly certain i was the first to post and praise the Barbershop. i think it was 2009 when i first used it. no one really listened and it didn't take off for quite a few years later.

funny enough i sold my barbershop to my guitarist whose used it for the last 7 years. I'm actually not a fan of how it sounds on bass anymore but it was a groundbreaking pedal at the time for me.

Fuzzrocious BDPG was the hot ticket at one point. It's now interesting to see renewed interest in Submarine type circuits but the former seems to have dropped out of view.

(Yes, i know it's discontinued, but still...)

Go to the PYPB type threads and you'll definitely still see the TAFM, Rusty Box, and Phat Phuk B on people's boards. Others mentioned in this thread not so much.

You'd probably see more of the Phat Phuk B if they were still made; discontinued production likely plays a role in the disappearance of a lot of "board favorite" pedals.

The Idiotbox Blower Box (which I have) is still very popular. It hits that magic combo of looking cool, sounding great and being very accessibly priced -- a boutique super-RAT with glowing eyes that costs less than most Boss or MXR type pedals. It'll be with us for a long time.

The Southampton Fifth Gear is still relatively young, but showing strong signs of getting into that "long time favorite" category.

Used to be that everyone wanted 3Leaf Audio stuff, especially the filter pedals. I used to have a GR1 and sometimes wish I had it back. Haven't heard much from the 3Leaf front in a while. I think maybe the fallout of the Pike vs. Darkglass fiasco had a lot to do with that.

Speaking of Darkglass, that's got to be one of the biggest success stories here. Sometimes it seems like I'm the only person who doesn't have a Darkglass pedal of some kind.

- GK/JK Rails

The classics that never seem to get old or get replaced?

- Dunwich Volt Thrower
- FEA Opti-FET and DE-CL
- FEA Growler
- Mutron III
- Moog MF-101

I've been on TB for a minute (actually longer than 2007 - I was someone else once) and I've been avoiding this thread because I have been afraid that I'll want to go buy all those pedals again. The ones I've bought and sold include:

Cream Pie
BB Preamp
Growler
Prunes & Custard
Rusty Box

I've always had a thing for dirt.

i also remember the sans amp bddi and mxr bass di+ were the only options unless you wanted to spend mega bucks on an Avalon U5 :). then Sadowsky came out with their DI and Aguilar had the db900. oh and aguilar had no pedal offerings at all. EBS was considered boutique.

not effects related but before class D there used to be so much discussion around power amps, Crown and QSC come to mind.
