I wonder if anyone still has a Cream Pie on their board... it's be fun to compare some of the older pedals with some of the new.

Long Lost and Forgotten TB Favorites

Every single flavor of the week becomes long lost and forgotten in short order here on TB. Just a quick look at the PYPB threads over the last three years will tell you how quickly the greatest pedals ever in the history of mankind get relegated to the classifieds or moved off the board in half that time. OD's seem to have the fastest turnaround rate, with the more exotic stuff second. Compressors tend to stick around longer, or disappear over night, depending on what Bongo has to say about them. I think that has more to do with the fact that there are lots of makers making great OD's, not as many putting out more esoteric stuff, and even fewer making quality compressors that actually bring something else to the table.
I've learned to take everything pedal related here with a big fat spoonful of salt, as all my favorites were discovered on accident or through my own experience. Almost every pedal I've tried that was the bees knees here has been a total disappointment for me, with the exception of the Fairfield Barbershop and Keeley Bassist. The Barbershop came to me as a package trade and I had no idea people were already using it for bass and I would have bought the Keeley anyway, because Keeley. That doesn't mean I won't come here and rave about what I like alongside others after I discover something, but the rate at which I see "favorites" come and go...well, it is what it is. I just like what works for me and base what I seek out and what I call a "favorite" on that.

Probably not new but there was a rage for effects only noise songs ( which has evolved into feedback Friday?) in which I had two songs in the two compilations and tried to experiment with feedback loopers...
I didn't post for a while after and just lurked but then started chasing a 'blended OD tone' in my head and trying to fit as many pedals as I could... and we all know how that ends!! ( whammy reissue, mini Wah, loads of dirt... oops sorry bank account!)

The first versions of the Darkglass pedals were bare metal enclosures. I believe I bought the first B3K to be shipped to the U.S. (serial # 07) that Hugo shipped me straight from Finland.
The Polish Love was the first pedal that came to mind when I read the OP along with the BJFE Blueberry and Dredgetone Angler.
But what I think of is the effects builders/companies that were hot/popular on TB and then ended up folding.

- Tonefactor (who rebranded and then were bought out)

There's the "flavor of the month" club. Yeah you know who you are!!!!!
Then there's the "this works for what I do" club.
Both are cool. I've drifted away more and more from the flavor of the month and have found myself wanting some of those originally discovered pedals.
Also, I have nothing relevant to add, I just wanted to ramble. hah

I toe that line as well. My "Previously Owned" pedal list is not as esoteric as many other people's around here, but it's grown a lot since I first joined talkbass. A few staples, a few "flavors of the month", but mostly bread and butter tone shaping pedals. No PLLs or ring modulators for this guy. 
I'm definitely guilty of the 'If Juan Alderete raves about it, I have to try it' syndrome. Unfortunately, I've found that I just don't get on with some of the pedals he really loves. The top ones that come to mind that fit this thread are the Meatbox, the Boss CS2, and to a lesser/ newer extent, the Malekko Diabolik. I'm sure there are a few others I'm missing. That said, I still need to try the Prunes and Custard and Mantic Vitriol.
I also find the Wren and Cuff mentions interesting. I still love my Phat Phuk B. That thing is going to the grave with me.

It's not that the Phat Phuk B has become any less great, just that it's not really being talked about any more.
While my opinion might one day change, right now I love the sounds from my Dunwich custom muff too much to really consider any other fuzzes.
I remember when Justin medal Johnson posted about wanting an OD and lots of recommendations were the tried and true old but not forgotten just not always talked about... maybe the classics are the classics and there's just lots of variations now?
When I joined 4-5 years ago I remember reading the entire johnk dirt megathread. So much great info.

I was looking for a place to celebrate my TalkBass 15th year anniversary (which I missed by a few days) and found this thread. I have the HBE Hematoma on my board - it's very dark so I was mainly just using it for the boost function, but switched it on a couple of times with my band recently and enjoyed it so it stays for now. (Bought mine on clearance at a local store - didn't realize HBE had disappeared...)

I picked one up recently. As well as the less drive, US drive and Starbalster. I still have the Gemini bass drive too. Great. Great stuff.
The Demeter comp and the Lovetone Meatball were two bees knees pedals when I first joined. I still love the Meatball and luckily it doesn’t stretch the budget like it once did.
The Analogman chorus with deep switch was a huge hit as well.
