Looking for a Good Delay Pedal, not a $300 plus electronic rocket , just a good fun delay pedal to play with, seems there are so many to choose from in MFGs, from $30 bucks to $300 bucks, rather purchase a good used one from a fellow T/B member than buy new, not trying to be cheap, but I have spent days watching YouTube Vids with headphones to see what is out there, I was looking MXR Carbon Copy, now there is a Bright Carbon Copy just so many to choose from.

Carbon Copy is a very good pedal and you can pick them up in the classified for very reasonable prices.
Any of the Boss DD pedals are good and of course the EHX delays offer some great sounds and variable options.
The TC Electronics and Source Audio units are very good too.
It just depends on what kind of delay(s)/options you are looking for but the brands I mentioned can be had for relatively low prices so offer many good places to get started.

I have a lot of delays, and the MXR Carbon Copy (regular) sounds the best.

All-around, at a reasonable price, the BOSS DD7 has a good variety of features.

Something on the lower end like a NUX Time Force might work for you too.

Edit: Am reminded by 40Hz's post below that EHX Canyons has great sound and features at an excellent price. Haven't gelled with mine so far. Too many options and settings maybe.

I use a Catalinbread Montevillian Echo. Great delay that works well with bass, but is sadly out of production and a little expensive.

The EHX Canyons is a good all around choice. Bass friendly, super versatile (there’s a lot under the hood), and well below $100 if you don’t mind used.

For good and really inexpensive, the tiny Hotone Eko has worked well for me. And at $40 new it won’t break the bank.

Bright CC probably works better for bass since you get a little more high end on the repeats. Love the original one, though. Wish I had more of a use for delay on bass.

Jimmy actually gave me the suggestion of trying out the Carbon Copy Bright. I have had mine for a few months. It's a very fun pedal, and it works quite well for bass! The modulation is subtle, but very sweet.

Which Hotone Eko "Skyine" or "Tape" ?

Either works, but I bought the Skyline version. I sometimes use it in conjunction with the Montevillian for some really trippy sonic messing around late at night with all the lights turned off. ;)

The Carbon Copy is always on my board.
I will be getting a EHX Canyon and a Boss DD (trying to decide which one) fairly soon.
Then it will be off to the upper atmosphere, I am going to add a SA Nemesis and a DOD Rubberneck at some point.
I also really want a unit that can do a very good Binson Echorec emulation.

I’m always surprised at how cheap the Cusack Tap-A-Delay sells for used. It’s a great sounding pedal, lots of features, tap-tempo, it even has an input for remote tap. I’d keep my eyes out, sometimes you can score one for around 100 bucks.

The old purple ones are just as cool as the new ones
