I saw someone else post that you go to your profile page, then "postings". It seems to be the same thing, however there is no, bolding when it's been updated, although it does have a little icon that says "new posts" so I supposed that replaces the bold.

I couldn't care less about the trophies, but I really don't understand the complaints about the ability to follow people and create newsfeeds. It seems to me that some people may find those functions extremely useful, and those who don't can simply ignore them.

But that is not the American way! You are required by law to complain about something whether you use it or not!

The new TB isn't really bothering me but I'm in the middle of an online course that requires a lot of reading. It's all black print/white background. It was killing me. Not now.

When I first started using powerpoint I saw a study that said a royal blue background with white print was the easiest on the eyes. I'm trying blue with with lavender print now.

I too applaud the effort that it took to make this switch, in light of the fact that it was necessary due to previous software that became insufficiently supported. Things would have eventually been worse without the switch.

Things look good to me in retro mode. I think the "like" function will disinspire people to make comments, which is antithetical to the reason for the existence of a forum in the first place. I don't actually care what you like or dislike unless I also know why. I am one of those pesky scientific types that prefers information to be evidence based, instead of just an unfounded opinion. Opinions are like, ....you know.

Trophies for stuff? Why? Distracting. Boring. Somewhat infantile.

But, by far, from what I see, the problems with the blocked comments and limitations to bumping threads in the Classified section are the worst. Eliminating comments in classified ads goes against the spirit of an open forum. There are a couple of threads discussing that now, which can be found at or near the top of this list > http://www.talkbass.com/forums/forum-usage-issues.78/
