Hi Guys,

I was looking peoples input on a looper pedal for home use? I'm just looking to mess around with a few things a home. I'm not looking to spend mega bucks on one, but I don't want to cheap out on a bad quality one either. I'm not too fussed with it having built in drum loops. But the ability to save some of my loops would be good - but non essential.

I've tried looking at a few reviews online but they are conflicting at times.

Does anyone on hear use one? Can you recommend any?

You're right, he did say that.

But I'm just making sure. I thought none of the Ditto versions could save loops, but browsing around it seems the Ditto X4 is capable of saving them--though that one might be a bit much for the OP. I think the regular Ditto, or maybe the X2, are better options for him/her.

I absolutely swear by my Boss RC-3. The price is right, it'll save a ton of loops and transfer then via USB, and while I hear that you're not so keen on drum patterns, believe me when I say that when you're looping, a rhythm guide is your friend. You don't have to use it, and if you do, you can turn it off or change it at any point.

S'got two instrument inputs, and it can record from AUX-in, so there's a lot of room for experimenting and having fun.

I've got five loopers in my arsenal now, and this one will always be the best purchase I've ever made. I recommend it to any and every beginner looper.

BOSS RC1 or RC3 would do that. I had one of both for a long time before I invested in a bigger version since I used it a lot.

RC3 can offer you 99 tracks and you can save them on the computer but it is less user-friendly since some stuff is hidden behind a digital menu

RC1 has 10 loop tracks and everything is on the box so super easy to use

Digitec has the Jamman which is pretty much like the BOSS

Ive had a few including the ditto and several jamman loopers.

Currently using the looper on my tc flashback x4. I bought mine used off eBay for $150. Considering it was only $50 more than what I paid for the ditto I'd say it's a much better value. It's got better functionality than the single footswitch loopers without being overly complicated for my needs or having a bunch of features I wouldn't use. The oversized knobs are cool because you can roll them with your feet. Plus you get ton of delays, and can also use it for modulation effects. One of my presets is actually a chorus with no delay at all. I was hesitant about getting the x4 because of size but because it can cover delay, looper, and modulation like chorus and flanger and vibrato I like that I can get all those effects without having to buy more pedals and have more 1/4" cables that could go bad or have to use more complicated power supplies.

Maybe someday I'll pick up a ditto x4 when I'm ready to move on to something more complicated but for the time being the flashback x4 covers my looping needs.

Also, it's only 40 seconds (20 if you want undo). So for example that's 20 bars at 120bpm (or 10 bars wtih undo).

So, SafeHands83, you might want to think about what kind of things you want to loop. A quick 4-bar loop, no problem. "All the Things You Are", eh, probably not.

With Ableton you can do just about anything !!!

Here's a small example ..

I got the novation launchpad mini to control it , now I'm thinking of a small foot switch to control the Rec and Stop modes.
