I'm ashamed to say it, because I grew up watching and playing American football, but compared to rugby, our football is a bit of a girly game. I was recently in a local fish n chips shop in Denver that only shows soccer and rugby on the televisions, and I was absolutely hypnotized by an international rugby match. Rough as hell, and rarely does play stop. No pads! Crazy rough. Very entertaining, but the players' careers can't last very long.

Oh yeah, I always thought I didn't have that Texas accent. I have alot of family up in the Portland, Or. area and my accent really shows when I go to visit.

Huh. I take great pride in the fact that I sound Southern. I think the accent's awesome!

I am with your friends. I can't imagine why anyone would want to do that. I tried it once and almost vomited.

Its one of my favorite breakfasts. Sometimes we have it for supper. Hubby is the Pancake King!!! So light, you have to eat them before they float away! Has to be bacon, tho. If its sausage, I have to move the sausage away from my 'cakes before they get all sausage-flavored. With bacon? I dip it in the syrup.

Do we Southerners really have that thick an accent? I always thought it was just an exaggeration, like the thick New York accents, which, when I went to New York, never heard any of. But is it really that noticeable?

I don't see it's a problem - so I often have breakfast of bacon, sausages with a side order of toast and jam. When I have been on holiday in Europe, there is also a mixed breakfast - Germans seem to like having savoury items along with pankuchen and syrup...?

Maybe that's why Americans like it so much? I saw on the History Channel where something like 60% of Americans have Germans in their ancestry. Thank you, Germany, for the lovely breakfast!

"Knackered"...I like that word. Picked it up from a Brit girlfriend of mine and started using it. "Had two gigs this weekend, and had to work the dayjob, too. I'm knackered!"

... and they have to be Heinz!!.

In fact Heinz Beanz on two slices of buttered toast is a main meal to us Brits.

Down south you tend not to get Black Pudden' with the "full english". Luckily with my job I go to Sheffield once a month for a couple of days and the Black Pudding with the full english (including the beanz) is something I look forward to .
