2 ideas. Either the opiates Jack was on just had him confused. When Jack challenged the doctor, the doctor didn't reply "Ok, I'll go get him." Or, Jack's dad eventually appears on the island, in the future, through some island voodoo, and gets rescued with everone else.

Or: He told the doctor to go see his dad upstairs, which could be interpreted as heaven.

My most interesting interpretation is that the flash forward was not a flash forward at all, and that Lost is actually Jack's second time on the island. Not sure how he could know Kate beforehand, and the cell phone he used looked quite new, but that would sure be a hell of a twist, wouldn't it?

I actually mentioned to my mom and dad during the flash (forward?) that RZRs weren't around in mid-'04, which was the plane crash.

But who knows... some weird juju going on.

i maintain my whole theory that everything is all a fabrication of Hurley's mind. and in the final moments of the final episode, you see him come out of a daze, or wake up in the mental hospital.

the same thing could be said about Charlie and the way he left the show.

the one way a producer knows he has captivated his audience is if there is some big uproar about it.

My dad told me there was a series of something like Lost that went on for seasons and seasons. It panned out at the very end and it showed it was all in the mind of an autistic boy.

Jack also said to the Doctor- "Do you know how long I have been at this hospital, do you know what I've been through?"
All of that could be interpreted that Jack was at one tme a patient, not just a doctor on staff. Because of his connections and the fact that he was a "hero" the other Doctors and staff may patronize jack, think he is crazy, but tolerate him wandering around.

I was mad for lost for the first to seasons. Got about half way through the 3rd and just lost interest :( I might get back into it at some point but I really couldnt be bothered with it. It didnt seem to be going anywhere.

Now Heroes on the other hand :hyper: I am gutted the season is over but I was always more into comic books than Treasure Island :rolleyes:

People talk about future flashes as opposed to "flashbacks" which we presume are reliable views of the characters history.

My feeling was that the directors wanted you to start thinking that all these flashes to sites away from the island may not be as "reliable" as you have thought! :eek:

So - the way it is shot - it is like the chracter has a dream, which we see - maybe some of these are true - maybe not....:hmm:

My view is these dreams or visions are given to the characters by the island, to help them understand situations they find themselves in - usually in the form of 'parables' from their past....

So - maybe the latest vision that is given to Jack, shows him a possible future - a reason to say no to phoning the ship...?

It all happens at the time that Ben says to him - what have you got to go back to - the hospital? Maybe the island intelligence picks up on this and shows him how bad it could be...?

Maybe also...the flashbacks are not all as reliable as we think.....?

I think the point about a black neighbourhood was spot on - but why is nobody saying Walt - as this is at about the same time he appears to Locke?

I thought this was a big clue although I can see the logic of the Michael being unpopular, thing - it's Walt who appears amongst the dead and brings Locke back...?

I think he remembers Desmond saying to him that unless he dies by drowning - nobody will be rescued, including Clare...:hmm:

Also at that moment he realised that Desmond was prepared to die for him and couldn't stop himself saving Charlie at every turn - unless Charlie was actually complicit in his own death...:hmm:

So Desmond keeps saving Charlie and nobody gets off the island - he realises he must die and let Desmond get away. If he shuts the door then the grenade will not kill Desmond who can possibly get away and warn the others to be careful ?

But unlike us - Charlie has no reason to suspect that a boat will be full of 'bad guys' - just another way off?
