That's what your wife is for. She'll spend it all for you. ;)

Back on topic... I knew this was coming, given LOUD's turbulent management of their brands. It'd be shame to see Ampeg vanish, though - someone's going to pick up the legacy, I'm sure.

NEW YORK, March 12, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The NASDAQ Stock Market announced today that it will delist the common stock of LOUD Technologies Inc. LOUD Technologies Inc.'s stock was suspended on March 03, 2009 and has not traded on NASDAQ since that time. NASDAQ will file a Form 25 with the Securities and Exchange Commission to complete the delisting. The delisting becomes effective ten days after the Form 25 is filed. For news and additional information about the company, including the basis for the delisting and whether the company's securities are trading on another venue, please review the company's public filings or contact the company directly.

Sounds like things are only looking up for Ampeg...NOT.

Actually, it may be a good thing. As said before, the current company will probably die soon, someone else (hopefully someone that will make it in America) will pick up the name.

It would be great if they did the whole MIA thing and made things such as the V4BH again.

You can't survive ONLY on what you did 40 years ago, either..... You need newer products.

of course you can't ABANDON your standard product line either..., you need both.

Loud did voluntarily delist, partly because the owners wanted to go private, and also to avoid the substantial expense of complying with SEC regulations, and relevant Federal laws.

But the stock is still trading on the "pink sheets", and recently briefly hit 1 cent per share...... Pretty poor showing, all 5 or 6 million shares are worth about only 50 or 60 grand at that rate. That does not encourage lenders to give you lots of cash (if there ARE any lenders these days).

Delisting isn't necessarily a bad thing. It means they aren't publicly traded. There many companies that aren't publicly traded that are vibrant and healthy. So is Loud vibrant and healthy?:hmm:

As a consumer you know what Ampeg products were effective in the market place and which weren't.
To me they kept coming up with innovations no one wanted. (iso vent etc.) They also cheapened the existing successful lines and started labeling everything SVT. They got smart but too late. But you can't just put vintage grill cloth on something and keep it cheap. Other issues like being too large hurts a lot of businesses when there are dry years.
Seeking more and more profit instead of moderate growth puts companies in risky positions where they can't weather an economic storm.

Very true. Lots of companies have de-listed when their stock prices were strong. But when companies de-list as their shares are being devalued it does not bode well for the company's future.
