LOUD..going...going....GONE

Though it is little consolation at this point, every single senior executive that was in place at LOUD when Ampeg (ala SLM) was acquired is no longer with the company. There were basically six key guys who ran the place and they have all left, been forced out or replaced in one way or another.:smug:

The new CEO, CFO and COO seem to have very little if any industry experience, but the CEO ran a business products company which he sold.:D

Just be patient. One would think Ampeg is far too valuable to not catch the attention of someone recognizing the potential and bringing it back to it's former glory.:bassist:

Only my personal opinion.:ninja:
Agreed with the last part, but if you think these new guys aren't as big idiots as the last bunch, think again. Sure, the damage was done by the old guard, but these new guys have done nothing to make it any better and have actually made some things worse. They're business school grads with absolutely no feel for the products they're making.

anyone else? im sure if we all pitch in a few dollars, talkbass can collectively own ampeg, and make it everything we want it to be!

I'M IN!

I will seriously quit my job and go to work full time to make the all new AMPEG stuff. I will also contribute all the money I have to the brand new company - about $12 worth - in order to help make this venture successful. And if about 300,000 other eager souls contribute equally, then we're getting somewhere.

Already I like our company better than either LOUD or SLM!

You've heard of Fantasy Football and Fantasy Baseball. Now play the game that blows them all away...Fantasy Amp Manufacturer!

I'd be all for doing joint-venture and trying to by the Ampeg name.
Doesn't help that I'm slowsly starting to build replica SVTs or anything :ninja:. Nope, no outside influence here :D.
Maybe we can get Jerry, PBG, et. al. in on this.
Yep, you have to have PBG in there as a technical advisor, at the very least. Then I'll be in.

...start up their own little boutique line based off of the original specs and slowly rebuild it.
This is what I've been intending to do for some time, now. I haven't built any yet for sell, but do have one working one and a 2nd one that I'm slowly building over time. Straight down to the 6146s, even. It'd be nice to see this turn into something bigger than a slight hobby, but I don't see that happening, really. Nor do I know the legality of it yet :D.
