Low Down Sound Club, Part Four

Having had the AE212 I concur. I'd be interested in what sort of cabinet design can be worked around those very capable Faital's that can coax more lows out of them. I tend to look at what Bergantino has done with the CN212 and wonder if perhaps he may have done as well as can be done. I have a CN212 and appreciate the boom factor of this box, it is a pretty light portable gun that gets the job done.

I found a good compromise with my LDS 212/horn cab. I got the cab with 3012HO's and an 18Sound, XD125 horn. I'm not a super low guy, like the 3012LF's provide, and the 3012HO's go surprisingly low for me needs. The XD125 is the best tweeter I've ever played through, and seems to be a great match for these 12's. I use a Carvin BX1500, bridged into this cab, and never get the Master past 11 0'clock. Best 212 cab I've ever played, although I've never played the Berg. Here's a photo:

Faital 15pr400 and m5n8 mid. 25" x 17" x 15" 38lbs. I was going for the largest cab that I could still comfortably schlep around on a hand cart and fit in my trunk. It's got a big thick yet focused and balanced sound. Don did a great job with this one.

I just got a new cabinet from Don this morning, a front ported 1-10" with a 6 1/2" mid driver; Eminence 3010LF and Faital Pro W6N8-120, and Ralf Patterson crossover. We started discussing the cabinet last Fall as a smaller solution for my current needs which may be a stereo system as I am starting to run effects more and have them split to the two channels of my Marantz PMD661 digital recorder for jotting down ideas. It sounds so good I now want to go live with it so I am beginning to investigate the amp side of the equation. Once I spend some time with the cabinet over the weekend I will see if any tweaking is necessary before the second cab it built.

I'm pairing my LDS 4x8 with an ACME B1 10/4/T... The combo is sick

Did don give you the dimensions and weight? Ive heard the 2510ii drivers. They sound like the berg ae410 but with more upper mids. The s2010 drivers have less of an upper mid peack but extend alitle higher and have a bass friendly mid mid. They also like a smaller cab. I may have don build me one someday.
