I have a 15/6/1 that weighs 55lbs, is on wheels, and is a great one cab solution for everything medium sized and under. I use either a GKMBF800 or GK1001 to power it.
The GK MBF500 is a great little head, but breaks up early at 8 ohms.

I've thought about adding the 15 sub, but:

I have a 12/6/1+12 sub that adds up to 4 ohms. Any of the 3 heads above will make it louder than you'll ever need, IMO. Modular is easier for me to move; ymmv.

Yeah I'll be keeping my MB800 for sure since a compact 8 ohm cab is probably in my future. I'm considering using a non-LF 3015 since I already have one and I suspect the overall sensitivity specs may be favorable just depending on the design.

Getting ready to pull the trigger on another LDS cabinet. Just trying to settle on components. 1212+tweeter - vertical, similar to the AE212/CN212; or 12126+tweeter, same vertical build.

Playing a 55-60 through a Streamliner 600, probably adding a Shuttle 6.2 at some point, for those slap/pop gigs I want more sizzle than the Streamliner has.

I play mostly R&B, smooth jazz, light funk and gospel, with some rock gigs as well.

So, what say the TB LDS faithful? Mid driver or no mid-driver? Eminence or Faital (if I go with a 6, it will be the Faital)?

If you go with a 3012LF you will want at least a 5" mid. I'm considering going the same route although I'm vacillating between a 2/12 and a 3010LF loaded 10/10/5/1

Having had the AE212 I concur. I'd be interested in what sort of cabinet design can be worked around those very capable Faital's that can coax more lows out of them. I tend to look at what Bergantino has done with the CN212 and wonder if perhaps he may have done as well as can be done. I have a CN212 and appreciate the boom factor of this box, it is a pretty light portable gun that gets the job done.

With the Emin. speakers a very high out put tweeter would be necessary as the crossover would need to be very low from 1200-1600 hz. vs approx. 4kz. for the Faital 12's---and this is why most people choose to add a mid-driver to the 3012's because they need to be crossed over at a much lower frequency--and then they add a smaller tweeter for upper extension. So...if you are after sweet mids the Faital 12's are the choice in my opinion. Don Oatman LDS"

Yeah makes sense. I did not know there was that big of a power handling difference between the two 12's. Even if that cab runs $700-$800 it will basically be a nCN212 with a somewhat lower price tag. Not sure if the resale on that would make it worthwhile when a Berg CN212 holds it's value pretty darn well. Just random thoughts.
